I need a very small piece of metal work done. I need a cylinder of steel about 2" in dia. with a 9mm hole drilled right through the middle countersunk about 2mm to about 15MM and it needs to be about 1/2 to 3/4 in tall. I can provide exact measurements if somebody can make it. It needs to be balanced as its going to spin very fast. If anyone can provide that i'd be willing to pay about 20 bucks plus materials. thanks!

what type of material? how tight are your tolerances?

any kind of inexpensive stainless should work. It just needs to be stainless and magnetic. As far as tolerances go... probably about .5mm or so

you realize that a .5mm tolerance on a piece that has a 2mm dimension is really pretty horrible?

this reminds me of ""drawings"" that i have received beforenobody wants dimensions in both english and metric units with about stuck beside every one of them

I'm just looking for somebody who can do it. I can provide detailed measurements upon demand, I just wanted to know if anyone would be willing to do it.

If you got a friend in industrial (best choice) or aero/mechanical engineering they could probably whip up something quick if they happen to be in the shop. I wouldn't go announcing it to everyone, though.

I would offer, but I cant mill stainless on my machine.

^what can you mill?

^Chief is right, go to Daniels Hall (Industrial) and find somebody in the downstairs lab that will do it for you...it should be a 20 min job.

I can only mill aluminum or things that dont require flood cooling, like delrin/plastics, wood, etc...I would take everyones advice and find someone on campus to do it.

yeah... i ordered the part I needed but I might cancel that order... they want 40 bucks.
