i ain't a lady or nothin'but i cook stuff in the crock pot relatively often, and my house is still standing. i don't think they get hot enough to catch anything on fire. that's why you have to cook that shit all day long.

i'm seeing a thread from jackleg tomorrow
i'm pretty sure my mom would leave a crockpot going when nobody was home
2/27/2008 11:37:59 PM
I'm not a lady but as long as you don't leave it on high and fill it with lighter fluid and sparklers, you should be aight.
2/27/2008 11:38:09 PM
i'm not a lady, but i'm a fat kid who can cook.....you'll be fine.

i would be much more worried about leaving with the dryer running or dishwasher going. don't overfill it and don't turn it on high.

1/160,031seriously. it is not likely.
2/27/2008 11:41:03 PM
Just leave it on low and make sure there's enough liquid
2/27/2008 11:41:54 PM
you should be straight. I do it all the time actually.I just try to set the crockpot alone on the counter...not close to anything. Other than that, you should be good.
2/27/2008 11:42:07 PM
is this not the point of a crockpot?
2/27/2008 11:42:22 PM
also i really don't mean for this to be only for ladies. i too have a crock pot and i am a man. i just like making threads asking for "a woman's opinion" and making it about how to correctly do my laundry or mop my floor. its good clean fun. and its a lot nicer than saying CUNT WHORE DOUCHEWRAPPER!!1
2/27/2008 11:42:23 PM
it most likely won't burn your house downjust keep it on low
2/27/2008 11:42:35 PM
24!/(24!-2!)

well yes, leave it on low. that is what my mom does. when no one is home. our house never burned down.
2/27/2008 11:47:44 PM
you can't leave it on low omg. it gets the best simmmmmma if you put it on medium for like 7 hours and then put it on low for like an hour before you eati've never been brave enough to put it on high. i think that's for crock popcorn
2/27/2008 11:49:43 PM
My wife and I do this every now and then and we have yet to have anything burn down.

crock pots are meant to be left on for long periods of time. you should be fine.

didn't read the responses, but your crockpot is probably less likely to burn your house down than the knives in your drawer suddenly becoming sentient and warring with each other
2/28/2008 2:28:22 AM
I've never owned or used one in my life that I'm aware of. But I also can't cook for shit. I'd probably be shot if this were ancient times due to my lack of womanly abilities.
