you don't drop ice cubes into a glass bong, cause you could break the stem/knock the bottom out(older peices).

you use cold tap water that has been in the fridge.

depends on the piece - my advice is still good advice tho - don't put ice cubes in your bong unless you want to replace it one day. i learned this the hard way when a buddy did it to my piece without asking.
