Is there any way with windows server 2003 to do the following:

give port 15044 UDP 30KBps traffic upstream priority
OR
give a static ip address range the same 30KBps traffic upstream priority
OR
give each separate static ip address XKBps traffic upstream priority

I do not want to have to buy any additional hardware/software to do this.

I have looked all over google and experts-exchange and haven't seen a viable solution yet.

Do it on the router or switch its connected to. It will operate much more efficiently, imo

Have you checked out the built in QoS packet scheduler?

http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/a9b9d7f3-ff08-4c49-b8a7-b92e9ce080101033.mspx?mfr=true

Not sure if it helps but..

wut: in this case, the server is the router.

this is for VoIP phones that don't have QoS built in to them. I need to be able to do this by IP or by PORT via windows server 2003.

You can shape those packets in the infrastructure ingress from the server.

You do know you can do things by port in routers too right?

Im no QoS guru but Im sure I can find you examples if needed

http://bandwidthcontroller.com/home.html

30 day free trial then $29.95 for 10 users and put it on the windows server.

i basically took the UDP port the VOIP uses and gave that total priority for upload out the dsl nic... hopefully it works and i'll pay for it.
