why is imageshack deemed as such a big failure? you just right click, view image, refresh, then hit back and it's all good.

It disrupts the TWW flow, that's why!

Not that this matters at all, but people are lazy. You lose nerd cred if you can't re-source your image so it doesn't show up as a red x or a bandwidth thief image.
