OMFG YEAR MAKE MODEL...j.k. I don't see why not. I had to take my car in with the mirror being held up by a string (literally) that I closed my window on. Granted, I had a full mirror, however, it was not really functional at the time since I couldn't really use it to see what I needed to. It was just on there and that was it.[Edited on February 20, 2008 at 12:35 PM. Reason : .]

hm. i wonder why they passed me then. (this was in jan. 2005). Oh well. Good to know.

well i mean it really depends on where you go.something like this can easily have "broken right after i got an inspection" if you ever get questioned.
2/20/2008 12:50:26 PM
^ that won't help me. I need to get my inspection done so I can get the car registered and everything.Even though I can still see out of it decently well, i think (d) will get me.I just don't look forward to replacing it and paying the taxes to get this shit done...ugh.

you can buy a replacement glass.. well its like plastic, from the parts store. it literally just sticks right over your mirror.most likely they will not say anything about the plastic that is broken. only glass because you cant see out of it [Edited on February 20, 2008 at 1:44 PM. Reason : ]

yeah thats all I'm worried about. I'll see about getting a mirror type surface to cover it up. I'll eventually have to get the whole thing replaced, the plastic base for the mirror was damaged too.[Edited on February 20, 2008 at 2:15 PM. Reason : .]

don't you only need 1 rear view mirror anyway?
2/20/2008 2:22:20 PM
generally you need the same amount as your vehicle was originally equipped

shit i got my jeep inspected door-less once and the mirrors were on the doors

inspections are nothing but a cash cow for the state and shops anyway. just find somebody who'll give you a sticker in exchange for money which is all it is anyway.

If you drive it in there just like that, it will fail. If you remove the whole mirror, you will pass. You are only required to have 2 rear facing mirrors to pass NCSI.

^wrong. read (h) in the above post with the law

^^and (g)like someone above posted. you gotta drive in there with what it came with. 2 side mirrors. didnt some miatas come with just driver side?either way, unless you have a friend, you arent passing[Edited on February 21, 2008 at 8:43 AM. Reason : ]

heres a tip for people with too dark of tint on your front windows... I used to own an explorer from Florida that had 3% all the way around... so when I took it in the first time I just rolled the windows down hoping they wouldn't roll them back up... of course they did... next place I rolled them down again but made sure to pull the fuse before I got there... "Yep, I ain't got any windows, gets kinda cold"
2/21/2008 10:17:38 AM
It doesn't have to have 2 side mirrors, it just needs 2 rear facing mirrors.......
2/21/2008 11:30:23 PM
^ one of them being on the driver side, therefore I can't just take it off and say "oh but I still have 2 mirrors"
2/21/2008 11:40:30 PM
I had mine duct taped on for a while and they didn't pass it. Guess it wasn't secure enough.
2/22/2008 3:03:49 PM
the reason you passed is that some inspectors could car less. your not special if you passed and they dont do it cause your cool to them. they just dont care.
