Thought it'd be an interesting subject. IMO, I think the new Camaro (or better yet a new prototype TransAm) should have been used rather than the Mustang. However, the Mustang doesn't look bad. Discuss.

I thought their choosing the mustang was really disappointing-- but it's mostly about who puts up more $$, not about what would be most fitting.

^, ^^

A Mustang? Boooo.Next thing you'll be telling me that The Hoff isn't playing Michael Knight.
2/19/2008 9:18:13 PM
Granted, it's a 2011 prototype, but I mean, come on. It's sexy and perfect! A Mustang? [Edited on February 19, 2008 at 9:42 PM. Reason : this is what they should have done. ]
2/19/2008 9:40:57 PM
^ there is only one of those, and the make mustangs everyday, they probbably needed several.
2/19/2008 9:48:29 PM
the car they have is so inappropriate. ^^would have been better. the show is awful anyway, so I can't really care that much
2/19/2008 9:56:37 PM
talk about promoting new fords.just about every freakin car in that 2 hour show was a ford.
2/19/2008 10:08:26 PM
it was like a huge ford commercial packed full of ford commercials

with the current mustang looking like it stepped out of the 60's, i think it's retarded. KITT was all about futuristic highly sophisticated technology. not some retro styling bullshit.i can understand the reasoning and potential legal issues for not using the concept. in case you all missed it, gm made an official statement last week that there would be no pontiac version of the 2009 camaro. still, even a 10 year old first year 4th gen. t/a would pull this off better than a 2008 mustang.[Edited on February 20, 2008 at 1:41 AM. Reason : .]

OMFG! i agree completely
2/20/2008 7:55:48 AM
If they wanted to say in the ford family, gt40 dammit.
2/20/2008 8:14:12 AM
STILL RETRO..Granted futuristic as hell for its day but its still a 60s design car.
2/20/2008 8:27:37 AM
Okay, so since there really isn't modern t/a, how about the new challenger? I think they could pull it off with that vehicle, especially if they equipped it properly. Besides, I'm sure Chrysler could use some advertisement. I'd say go with a Ferrari, but then it'd be Magnum P.I. So no go on that idea God, Fords ruin everything.
2/20/2008 8:49:24 AM
the new challenger is just as retro as the mustang. what they should have done is just be smart and put this idea back on the shelf for several more years.

Or used a funky concept car special made for it or something....I think a viper would have been the most acceptable American car right now.Ford was dumb for sponsoring this.
2/20/2008 10:08:49 AM
tvguide scoop says it may be getting picked up for a full fall season.

Yeah but move his original processor over.P.S. Viper was a badass car but i don't think it could think... but maybe i'm wrong.
2/20/2008 11:32:15 AM
man, Viper was an awesome show. of course this is from my memories as a young lad which may be tainted with not knowing the difference, but that car changed shape and shot electroprobes at cars to disable them and had missiles n shit.
2/20/2008 12:21:27 PM
I also think they should have used the prototype transam. Doesn't take too much to build some dummy vehicles and use another chassis to build it off if the prototypes are too far off from being built.
2/20/2008 2:27:37 PM
that transam prototype is beyond sexy. I could see myself getting one of those.

Vette z06.
