Each day about 10000 emails get sent to our domain (we have about 500 users).50% of that gets punted by our DNS black list (trend micro).65% of whats left gets filtered by out spam filter (Mailscanner/spamassassin) and 5% is tagged as spam. The remaining 30% is delivered.so 10000 emails * .5 = 5000 emails5000 emails * .65 = 3250 filtered definite spam5000 emails * .5 = 250 emails marked as spam and let through5000 emails * .30 = 1500 clean messages delivered. So from an onslaught of 10000 emails, only 1750 get through. With 250 marked as maybe being spam. ~15% of all the emails we get are legit.I think its about time we moved on from SMTP. Its been good to us for a while, but this shit is just getting ridiculous.[Edited on February 19, 2008 at 5:48 PM. Reason : .]
