the wet soil may actually slow you down a bit from the increase in weight.

Depends on how wide and long the hole is too. I typically only go down 5 feet or so, cause then I start hitting rocks. I hate having to bury bodies, if thats what your digging a hole for.

well, according to some construction worker friends of mine....

they are scheduled to lay down the foundation for a building tomorrow....
so I don't think I'll actually have to worry about making it look natural too much.

Then you're screwed. If they are pouring a concrete pad you're not going to be digging through their nice flattened surface.

And besides, when the hole settles and the concrete cracks they're going to be wondering why there is a cavity underneath their building with insert object underneath it.
