when we get money from wherever, does the mens bball team get a big portion, then football, then the other sports.?

mary anne fox took all the $$$$$$$ when she left
2/14/2008 11:35:05 PM
Lee Fowler gets most of it because of the amazing job he is doing.
2/14/2008 11:37:40 PM
I would assume football brings in the most money and costs the most money.
2/14/2008 11:41:15 PM
i would assume football is our biggest moneymaker but i am not completely surebball is on TV a lot more just b/c of the quantity of games in a season but ticket sales are obviously football as are most other things b/c of crowd size

women's basketball operates in the black?really?
2/15/2008 12:15:14 AM
^lol.our terrible underachieving sports teams are not worth 42 million dollars.
2/15/2008 12:17:30 AM
i guess this isn't profit.i'm curious as to how much our women's basketball team loses every year.[Edited on February 15, 2008 at 12:31 AM. Reason : .]
2/15/2008 12:22:11 AM
no but it is grand total revenues brought in from the athletic programs and that is what i was referring to.our crappy sports teams are not worth 42 million dollars in revenues
2/15/2008 12:28:14 AM
Well being that revenue means the amount you take in before deducting expenses.. then yes, this is not profit.
2/15/2008 12:30:05 AM
Womens basketball is the third leading revenue sport in the country. Everyone knows that.
2/15/2008 12:55:34 AM
$42 million dollar bucks?!?!?
2/15/2008 1:58:00 AM
football is pretty much the only money-making college sport, nationwideonly a few programs, say Duke, UNC, Kentucky, UCLA, actually make money from their basketball program.
2/15/2008 2:04:11 AM
^and uswe actually have one of the higher profit margins from basketball in the country (mostly due to remarkably low expenditures).

I wonder if that chart includes donations to teams/programs/athletic department. Only reason I bring that up is I am trying to figure out how the women's programs (non basketball) bring in 1.7 million.

well im just saying. that money is going to waste. maybe we can start a womens football team
2/15/2008 9:38:50 AM
Well Title IX means you can't just have football and basketball teams and call it a day, or just men's sports for that matter.
2/15/2008 9:43:53 AM
^^ so they can perform below expectations too?
