Hopefully we can get home court for some games.

2/14/2008 8:50:46 PM

2/14/2008 8:51:29 PM
there is gay pride
2/14/2008 8:52:58 PM

2/14/2008 8:53:39 PM
but you can get that in chapel hill
2/14/2008 8:54:22 PM
can't wait.
2/14/2008 9:01:09 PM
rather win this than lose in the first round any day
2/14/2008 9:59:21 PM
From a fan's perspective this may be true, however, big time recruits would much rather see you get blown out in the first round of the NCAA than blow all your opponents out in the NIT
2/14/2008 10:17:24 PM
I'll take 10 years of going out in the first round of the NCAAs than 10 NIT championships.Seriously who the fuck gives a shit or remembers the NIT. Dave Odom??
2/14/2008 11:23:45 PM
oh well. 1-2 more losses and we are destined for it. finish 19-11 which means 8-8 we won't be in it...finish 17-13 which I think we will and be 6-10 in the acc then it takes a miracle which we won't pull. Right now we would be the #8 seed playing the #9 seed bc in the tourney...they killed us, lets say we get lucky...then the winner gets to play duke...yayyyyyyyyy NOT
2/15/2008 12:48:02 AM
Haha we might not make this tournament at our current rate.
2/15/2008 1:01:29 AM
zing!
2/15/2008 12:55:11 PM
GO STATE!!!please make the NCAA's as a 11 seedperfect for a matchup w/ Herb as a 6 seed
2/15/2008 12:57:56 PM
bttt same shit
2/16/2008 5:04:44 PM
woooooo
2/21/2008 12:41:24 AM
we got a chance if NIT stands for the Not Invited(to anything) Tourney.
2/21/2008 12:43:33 AM
We still have a ways to go to get in this thing....Not sure they want the 11th best ACC team.
2/21/2008 12:50:32 AM
i know we get practices and shit...but i'd rather just call it a season.
2/21/2008 1:04:20 AM
^ Might as well. Our team did a long time ago.
2/21/2008 1:26:47 AM
Let's play for 66th place! YAY!
2/21/2008 2:11:17 AM
we wont even make this shit
2/21/2008 7:45:34 AM
isn't there a sub-NIT tourney this year too? maybe we'll make that!
2/21/2008 7:49:34 AM
bttt
2/24/2008 5:22:43 PM
AIN'TGOIN'TAHAPPEN
2/24/2008 5:23:23 PM
Does 4-12 in the ACC even get you in the NIT? I don't think it does.

haha. at this rate the acc tourney may be our only post-season tourney.
2/24/2008 5:23:56 PM
Lock.We aren't even going to this one folks.....
2/25/2008 2:59:05 AM
cbi ftw/ftl?
2/25/2008 7:53:49 AM
^in, but ftl. [/shoulda gone to a Pac-10 school]
2/25/2008 8:02:31 AM
2/25/2008 8:24:58 AM
With our luck, they'll make the ACC tourney an 8-team only event.
2/25/2008 8:54:13 AM
Yeah, you don't want to tire out the good teams by making them play the conference trash.
2/25/2008 9:46:03 AM
Lately Nitology has us as a six seed, not even a home game in that hahaha
2/25/2008 9:52:06 AM
Lose the rest, and it's likely the CBI...http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3110361Then again, maybe a 15-16 record with a 9-game losing streak wouldn't be enough even for that.

^ Many schools have a single banner with all of the years they made the NCAA tourney. Some shitty schools like those in the MVC have a similar one for the NIT.I'd much rather say that we have a 10 year streak of going to the tourney than say "we own the NITs".
2/25/2008 3:33:14 PM
well obviously if you go to the NIT and win it the idea is to build off that semi-success and make the real tourney the next year
2/25/2008 3:46:45 PM
well we've got to win the NIT to even have this discussionand it didn't happen last year, so i'm not expecting it to happen this year
2/25/2008 3:49:04 PM
2/25/2008 3:50:26 PM
If we make it to the final in the acc tourney, we can still make the NIT
2/27/2008 10:31:14 PM
that is so sad to hear.
2/27/2008 10:34:02 PM
i think the College kickoff every year should be the defending NCAA vs defending NITyeah, most years it would be a blowout, but any given year...

Assuming we lose our last 2 games (which seems like a safe assumption right now) we'll end up 15-16. Personally I don't think a sub .500 team should be allowed to play in the postseason, period. If we win our first-round ACC game (unlikely) we'd go back to .500 but still probably nothing. Second round, repeat previous sentence except "1 game over .500". If we make it to the finals, we'd probably haul ourselves back into consideration for CBI or even NIT, but I think it would take an act of God for that to happen. The irrational me wishes for an improbable ACC tourney run; the rational me expects us to end the season on a 9-game losing streak.
2/28/2008 11:49:22 AM
^We're 15-13 now. Losing the next two would put us at .500.
2/28/2008 11:51:46 AM
yea, if we lose our last 3, i don't think the CBI will even take us, though they've admitted they'll take teams with sub 500 records. A sub500 record is one thing if you're winning down the stretch..... losing 9 in a row though?
