I will say in Eastern NC, where most fast food workers are indifferent to customers, if not outright rude, that Chik-Fil-A has far above average workers. In particular at the Roanoke Rapids store, the lady in the mornings at the drive-thru is named Rosalee. She is always so fucking nice to me and sounds genuine when she asks how your doing and shit like that. I really appreciate that and love going out there.

Not to bust up the happiness here, but you know they all have signs on their registers that says "when a customer thanks you, respond by saying "my pleasure."" So it's not like they say it because they want to. I still <3 them though.

All their employees that work there for a certain time period, like 6 months, are eligible for free tuition assistance. They foster an environment where the workers are appreciated, and they also make it a point of emphasis to only hire those with strong values. One of the main reasons they aren't open on Sundays is for their workers.

The guy that started Chick-Fil-A is fucking awesome. His name is S. Truett Cathy. In addition to starting one of the best chain restaurants in America, and being a good person, he also established a couple of schools for children in need and does tons of other stuff to help the community.

His story is pretty damn cool. You should check out his Autobiography, "It's Easier to Succeed Than to Fail". You can find it at D.H. Hill. It's a really good book.
