my roomates computer shows an internet connection, but when he tries to pull up IE or Mozilla, it just says cant find page. how could we fix this?

Also what kind of anti-virus does he have? I've seen some of the Internet Security suites cause this before.

tried wireless and ethernet cable, both say there is signal, just no internet browserand he has symantec

Just type "ipconfig /all" in a cmd window and paste it.

Is it on campus or off? I know my frends computer had this problem with RR and it was one of the stupid advanced internet options settings. I just had to find the setting(s) that was different from my own and then disable and enable the network connection

I did all of that in the cmd window and it still won't work. In the cmd window it says Media Disconnected...
