oh wow! was expecting a rick roll....i wonder if he will back huckabee?
2/7/2008 12:27:02 PM
Suspending? Really, Mitt? I mean, come on, just drop out and save a little dignity.
2/7/2008 12:28:18 PM
^ Same thing Edwards did. I think it's probably a legal, political, and economic move.
2/7/2008 12:33:28 PM
Eh, I guess it doesn't matter. Either way my unpleasant eight year wait is drawing to a close.
2/7/2008 12:37:00 PM
^ Ever heard the saying out of the frying pan and into the fire? Be careful what you wish for, Grump--you're gonna get it.
2/7/2008 12:39:48 PM
"If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or (Barack) Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror,"
2/7/2008 12:42:44 PM
Yay! That's all I have to say about that.....
2/7/2008 12:46:57 PM
he's on CNN now. [Edited on February 7, 2008 at 12:48 PM. Reason : ^ hahaha Forrest Gump? ]
2/7/2008 12:47:51 PM
Getting tag teamed by McCain and Huckabee on a national level can't be fun. I guess the lesser of the two primary races is drawing to a close.
2/7/2008 12:49:42 PM
2/7/2008 12:52:43 PM
If you suspend your campaign, don't you still keep your delegates, so you could give them to someone else?
2/7/2008 12:53:58 PM
He looks like he is about to cry at the speech he is giving right now....
2/7/2008 12:56:21 PM
Europe is failing because they don't believe in God?GTFO
2/7/2008 12:57:07 PM
So I guess basically his plan is to see who will offer him the sweetest deal for his candidates? I mean, not that it matters, because the only one who will have the opportunity to follow through is McCain, but if not for that, why bother suspending?
2/7/2008 12:57:34 PM
^x5 Um. . .not sure what the hell all that shit means. What I meant was we might get something worse than we have--yes, it's possible.^ Keeps options open.[Edited on February 7, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Reason : .]
2/7/2008 12:59:36 PM
He sounds like the preacher in the brickyard....
2/7/2008 12:59:44 PM
be funny if he wasn't quitting, just getting free air time.
2/7/2008 1:00:53 PM
Oh well, third party time. Maybe Obama if the Libertarians can't run in this silly state.
2/7/2008 1:10:02 PM
Thread title should be: "Reps cede presidential seat to Dems"
2/7/2008 1:37:26 PM
latest opinion polls show romney losing to both dems while gramps only loses to hillary
2/7/2008 1:43:14 PM
Pretty much. Obama just raised 7 million overnight, while the Hildog had to loan her campaign 5 million just to stay afloat. Obama is straight rollin' right now, and will likely will every state in Feb going into Tejas and Ohio.McCain is going to have to pick a rockstar VP if he wants to have any prayer in hell of winning. The GOP noise machine (Rush, Hannity, et al) can't stand him, nor can the evangelicals. I've got a feeling the GOP is phoning this one in already, because whomever wins is going to have a hell of a mess to clean up, and will likely be one and done.[Edited on February 7, 2008 at 1:47 PM. Like I would ever vote for someone named after a fingerless glove.
2/7/2008 2:00:23 PM
^^ McCain/Nugent 08?
2/7/2008 2:05:11 PM
2/7/2008 2:10:51 PM
2/7/2008 2:15:05 PM
No, at that point it would be finding somebody who doesn't loathe conservatives.
2/7/2008 2:23:31 PM
^thats reasonable. I just dont get the idea of a libertarian saying if i cant get a libertarian in, ill vote socialist. Its a 180.
2/7/2008 2:25:34 PM
Dems, Pubs, it doesn't matter, You're kidding yourself if you think the GOP is a party of small govt. Case in point - the last 7 years. 2001 national debt - about 5.4 Trillion2007 national debt - about 9.6 Trillion and counting/conservative, but not blind
2/7/2008 2:26:36 PM
^the GOP should be the party of small govt. Bush is far from a conservative. We also had a war in there johnny and 9/11 which hurt.Think the debt is big now? Let the govt take over healthcare and grant amnesty. I didnt even touch on the free college, 5k for being born, housing bailout, etc being promised by the dems. This last president was crap on alot of things, spending and medicare drug plan being the top 2. imo
2/7/2008 2:31:03 PM
I think that I would be somewhat content with either of the parties. They all agree with addressing global climate change, changes in energy policy and reducing the influence of lobbyists. Its a victory against extremist political agendas.
2/7/2008 2:32:05 PM
eyedrb,How much of the Iraq/Afgan funding has actually shown up in the annual budgets in the last 5 years? No Child Left Behind?Dept of Homeland Security?Bush Prescription Drug Plan fiasco?Come on man, the size of govt has exploded in the last 2 teams. Bush was elected by the GOP, correct?
2/7/2008 2:46:00 PM
^yep and we all seem SO happy with him.
2/7/2008 2:53:47 PM
2/7/2008 2:56:19 PM
maybe that'll mean more votes for hillary then? haha
2/7/2008 3:27:51 PM
Good Riddance.
2/10/2008 7:23:02 PM
Romney to attack Trump today.
3/3/2016 10:10:40 AM
and then that will be used as a talking point in the debate tonighthere comes the full court press defense we've been hearing so much about
3/3/2016 10:15:35 AM
who does romney think he is? I hate trump but if this whole anti democracy movement from the republican establishment makes me hate trump less then i can only imagine how much its going to motivate the people who don't actually mind him.
3/3/2016 10:17:09 AM
Trump has been up all night wearing boxing gloves and beating the shit out of his aides to get fired up for the response opportunity.
3/3/2016 10:19:34 AM
bahahaha that pussy ass speech romney gave is not gonna even register with all of the rednecks voting for trump, those people probably do not even understands the words he is using
3/3/2016 12:08:15 PM
Just more Drumpf fodder.
3/3/2016 12:11:19 PM
I said all along ignoring trump would've been a better strategy. They won't let a day go by without him being the top news story.
3/3/2016 12:13:33 PM
So McCain and Romney, the last two failed nominees are supposed to tell the voters how they should make their decision?
3/3/2016 1:24:45 PM
One is a winner of multiple elections, has governed before and is a fantastic businessman. The other lost a shit ton of money by trying to run a business instead of just investing his inheritance in a passive S&P 500 etf.(To be fair he has provided jobs to thousands over the years but his net worth would be much higher if he invested in a ETF and spent 40 years jerking off)[Edited on March 3, 2016 at 1:38 PM. it's pretty funny that they're just now coming to their senses and attempting to act like the adults in the room when they're the ones who allowed it to happen in the first placemaybe I just haven't seen them, but it's kind of hard to believe that a majority of what's going on hasn't stuck to Reince Priebus and there aren't multiple pieces out there putting the blame on him. dude's a joke.
3/3/2016 1:44:31 PM
the way he's behaving it's like he thinks he's on the campaign trail again...
3/3/2016 2:01:47 PM
The GOP is losing their grasp. I think we are watching the crumbling of the party happen before our very eyes, and it is glorious.
3/3/2016 2:10:59 PM
you think?
3/3/2016 2:24:06 PM
Trump is tearing apart everything Mitt said.
