Mine started doing this a few weeks ago, except it only does it when it's just me in my office. I asked someone about it, and of course when he came in it stopped, and now I think he thinks I'm crazy.

yeah its rather annoying

I could put in a ticket on it but then they will just call and ask a bunch of dumbass questions, and as you said, they will show up and it will stop.

my personal laptop gets loud like that. I'm in pretty shitty situation with that thing. the hinges are broken so the monitor won't stay up, so ive had to hook it up to an old Compaq 15" CRT monitor w/ horrible resolution

I had a Toshiba laptop that I could not even take to class because it was so god awful loud when the fan came on. After using up all of my repairs on that and getting it replaced through BBY I got an hp with a 17" screen and could not be happier. It is quiet and has a great picture, the only downside is its about as heavy as a bowling ball. I guess you cant have EVERYTHING.
