like thisor like this?i've always done the second one for some reason. but i've been consciously trying to change when i write now.

almost always used #2... not for any particular reason i guess... i did try using #1 for a short time, i think i was copying someone else lol. but that didn't last long
2/5/2008 11:03:12 AM
the latter, I don't have to make the effort to connect the left upright with the main upright.
2/5/2008 11:03:37 AM
#2
2/5/2008 11:03:46 AM
2
2/5/2008 11:04:15 AM
a combination...they almost touch at the top but just enough so they are open.
2/5/2008 11:04:34 AM
like this:
2/5/2008 11:04:38 AM
#2if i did #1, with as fast and sloppy as i write, it would probably start to look like a 9 (the two already are very close as it is with my handwriting)
2/5/2008 11:05:01 AM
it seems like more engineers use the "4" style. at least in my office, I am the only one who writes it like #2.

2/5/2008 11:10:15 AM
^OMG THAT IS SO SHOPPED
2/5/2008 11:13:28 AM

2/5/2008 11:14:33 AM
i've seen this thread before[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 11:17 AM. Reason : be4, even]
2/5/2008 11:17:15 AM
I always write it like #2I've never heard anyone complain
2/5/2008 11:17:38 AM
^I PM'D YOU YESTERDAY MOTHERFUCKER
2/5/2008 11:20:29 AM
every time i try to write it in style #1 when i'm in a hurry it looks more like a 9
2/5/2008 11:21:23 AM
yeah I know, I started to write you back, but felt that I should consult with the little lady first
2/5/2008 11:21:38 AM
i saw her on aim the other day i thought about sending her a smiley face.i didn't
2/5/2008 11:24:28 AM
#2[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 11:25 AM. Reason : but i use a line on my 7's and Z's b/c im a homo][Edited on February 5, 2008 at 11:26 AM. Reason : oh ya and the line on thebottom and dangler on the top of a 1]
2/5/2008 11:25:27 AM
we need more middle fingers and less 2's. This thread can still be salvaged.
2/5/2008 11:25:54 AM
..l., --
2/5/2008 11:26:46 AM
we need a real big one
2/5/2008 11:27:47 AM
i'll give you a real big one
2/5/2008 11:28:23 AM
#1why would you take two strokes to write a single digit? that's dumbthat's like writing the number 8 by drawing a S, then adding a /
2/5/2008 11:31:59 AM
2/5/2008 11:32:33 AM
i do the line through my 7 also, shoes
2/5/2008 11:33:16 AM
2/5/2008 11:39:28 AM
Format #2. My writing is very messy, and if I try to one-stroke it, a 9 with a funny tail usually results. This is particularly exacerbated by the fact that my '9's have straight rather than curved lower parts.
2/5/2008 11:45:47 AM
but seriously i used to do #1 all the time but now its #2

#2although the first one can look like a 9 if you're trying to ambiguously fudge an answer that you're not sure about
2/5/2008 12:41:57 PM
I remember my math teacher in 4th grade yelling at me b/c my 4's looked like 9's

2/5/2008 12:50:45 PM
Like the second one.But the real question is...do you draw the loop in the bottom of your 2's?I used to, but stopped about 14 years ago for some reason and never went back.
2/5/2008 12:53:07 PM
Used to be #1 (my father is an engineer and does his that way), but about midway through elementary school I changed over to #2 because I had a bitch of a teacher that started counting off because she felt that my 4s looked too much like 9s despite the fact that you'd have to be a complete tard to get the kind of answers she was accusing me of giving (2x7=19?).Now that I'm no longer in school I've considered switching back.
