Well, I purchased my 97 BMW 2.8 Z3 back in 2000. It had just under 40k miles on it. Today I finally hit 200k on it. They car honestly runs close to the way it did when I bought it. Finally put in its first replacement clutch at 197k.Anyone know if BMW makes badges for high miles? Im at the point now where I want to drive the car until it dies. Still looks great inside and out (well, when there isnt a drought and I am allowed to wash it).

^My dad got his 94 around 218k before he traded it. It was burning oil a little when you cranked it, and it had dropped the tranny, water pump, etc. Crazy part was my 93 Dakota dropped the tranny and water pump within 2k miles of his truck, a year or so apart. I can say that Ranger I think has a new water pump on it, but the manual tranny is original, and damn near everything else. I think even the platinum dual spark plugs are original.

Top is in good shape. There are 2-3 small pin prick holes that can leak if it rains hard enough. They are so small, I can apply a small glue patch on the underside and fix it (hasnt been enough rain for me to deal with it). The rear window has already been replaced once since I have had the car.

They may have been changed before we bought it. I could have that shit backwards. I even was about to get some spark plugs at one point and redo it. I would be shocked if they were factory as it runs very smooth, and I can't imagine if one cylinder had any sort of problem with either plug that it would run like ass.

yeah i hear ya, it's just good to take them out once in a while to check their condition.

anyone who puts that many miles on a clutch ain't driving right. sure you can make a disc survive... but never a pressure plate.

'95 F150 - 207,000miNever been in the engine, been in the tranny once. Based on what I paid for it in 2000, and how many miles I've put on it since, I figure I paid <$.10 / mile. No longer the daily driver, but I've still got it.(Even if it only gets 10mpg )]

Guys, for those who know me, I drive very fast, and generally pretty hard. I do not burn my clutch out, however, nor do I drag race the damned thing. My shifting method seems to be a bit different than some of the other stick drivers I have been with (none of them were good, so thats no surprise).I finally got my car inspected today (3 months late). the mechanic didnt believe the car had 200k miles on it he told me he thought my odometer was wrong, but I told him it wasnt.[Edited on February 6, 2008 at 12:31 PM.
