This is true. I don't know if I'll smoke up because my chest hurts bad enough right now. Spaghetti-O's are fair game though.

No one else wants your germs.

I've only taken 3 days off in 5 years for sick leave. They were consecutive. I lost 8 pounds that week.

The only times I've called out from work: a HELLACIOUS hangover after a night of just me and some vodka, and mono. I've worked there for 2.x years

I'll go to work sick, and sanitize everything before I leave for the night, and touch things I can't sanitize with a glove on.

[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 9:03 AM. Reason : ^aha. see, if I get other folks sick, it means I have to work more. possibly while sick. ]

The last time I took sick leave before this one was October 2006, where I was out for over a month when I had all that shit done w/ my eye.

Even if you sanitize things that you touch while you are at work, what about the germ droplets you breathe out?

I didn't say it was foolproof

I've checked with my boss: unless I can give them at least a day's notice, they'd rather I come in sick than call out. If I don't come in, they have to find someone else to work, or someone has to stay late. Someone who has been there since 7am; I get off at 10pm.

Hehe yeah

Not that this applies to all workplaces, but when people come into work sick, it decreases the productivity of the entire company (I think Toyota or something like that did a study...)

I'm about to go sit in a steam bath for an hour or so. See if that will help open me up a little

^^I don't know about your case, but a REALLY strong work ethic, even if you don't come in when sick, will really save your ass.

^does it ever. Bf and I were both sick. We went camping in the mtns in october (yes, I know now that was a bad idea). I had been religious about taking the mucinex and he hadn't. (in part because I had worse congestion than he did). He ended up with very bad bronchitis (so bad the docs at first thought he had pneumonia). I had ...nothing

I just coughed up a gigantic purple and green booger from the depths of my lungs.

even though it's pretty disgusting, I feel like it's sorta an accomplishment
