yeah kinda ironic as the party that freed the slaves are the ones that don't support social programs to help impoverished people many of which are black. Guess stuff really hasn't changed since in 1860 that told states rights to go fuck themselves and to this day they still wipe their ass with the constitution.

So Nixon won every state but Massachusetts in 1972 and two years later resigned? Also Reagan won every state but Minnesota. More green states in those early years.....was there even a Republican candidate running against Wilson?

There were a good number of prominent democrats who supported Nixon over George McGovern because McGovern's policies seemed a bit extreme at the times. McGovern's campaign was damaged when he fired his VP due to his history of depression as well as by his reputation as the candidate for "acid, amnesty, and abortion."
