Tennis balls in a sock is a home made foam roller. You can also just use a tennis ball by itself. Roll your joints, and your entire back. I love it. I do it several times a week.I normally lay on them, though.[Edited on February 1, 2008 at 1:44 AM. Reason : ]

just at trigger point, a knot if you willi probably have about 10 to 15 of them back there in my erector spinae, rhomboid, trapezius, scalene, sternocleidomastoid, levator scapulaeand a couple of them where my trapezius connects to my skulli go to a dr at the duke spine clinic, because back in october i lost feeling in the pinky and ring fingers of both hands, after a huge workup of tests n shit we found out that my muscle spasms are compressing the nerves.i am pretty much in constant pain, and the medications arent working anymore. ive really gotta go to pt nowand probably get trigger point injections.you on the other hand, if you only have one or two, go see a massage therapist for a trigger point massage.

It is probably your rhomboid and not trapezius. I get those time to time. The tennis ball is good, and I particularly like standing in a doorway with my hands above the door opening and leaning forward.
