I owe the city of NYC $365 total from 4 parking tickets

Just paid $145 (2 of them), since someone told me that if you have out of state plates they come tow your ass when you owe them more than $500

The city is such a bitch with parking tickets.

I've started using regional rail when I want to go up from Philly or Delaware.

i love the way you can actually watch a cop start writing the ticket at the 3 minute mark on the parking meters up there guess they have to since they need to clean up all dead cops

There's also another $115 ticket (now probably 145) that I got with a UHaul truck back in October. But they never contacted me about the ticket so F that.

I wouldn't keep/use my car up here if I didn't have to, but unfortunately b/c of where my asshole company moved its basically a necessity.

^I'm not sure if there's any truth to that. People double park here like its their job and I've NEVER seen someone get a ticket for double parking, ever.

Its not that easy man.

$115 for parking in a no parking zone. But tell me, where would you park when you're MOVING out of your apt? (no parking zone in front of my apt, the ENTIRE BLOCK) and there were no parking spots at all for blocks all around

$45 for parking on the wrong side of the street during alternate side parking (it was Xmas eve and I was away and I thought alternate side was suspended)

$60 for parking in a no parking 8am-6pm spot (i was in a hurry and parked there at 5:45pm, was ticketed at 5:48)

And the other ticket, I don't even remember what it was for.

Add interest to those ($10/month per ticket i think) and you get $365.

I said I'd get one: that one.

But it's not the city's fault that there is a no parking zone in front of your apartment, geez.

Very true, but when I moved in it wasn't a no parking zone. (doesn't matter, in that case it'd be full of cars).

How about the back of the UHaul truck and my car were open and being loaded with boxes and furniture. And the hazards were flashing on both. I mean who wouldn't want to punch that ticket writer in the face?

that goes for everyone talking shit. especially you, stillfuckbox. the whole world isnt gonna be like 5th grade when you were the best reader and learned every lesson out there. you need a dose of humility, that would make you a much more pleasant person, i'm sure.

just curious what they have to do with his parking tickets. seems the only reason to "go there" is to imply that he and his friends "just cant park right"

i don't need to know you personally. i know what i see here, and what i see here is a girl who is constantly trying to be right.... constantly correcting people.... constantly trying to assert intelligence.

you're right, i could walk right past you on the street and never know that i saw you, but you have to admit that it is pretty unpleasant for someone who sees it every time they log on to a messageboard.

I'm not being haughty: he parked in the wrong places and got tickets: how is that my fault? If he feels like continuing to get them, whatever. I didn't give him the fucking tickets. If he was constantly parking in the same place and was SURPRISED to have gotten them, then I would've found this more boneheaded. Sometimes you have to park places, but you shouldn't really complain about the outcome when you know you've done something wrong (according to NYC, anyway).

I appreciate the fact that YOU somehow feel you have some kind of authority to direct how other people respond to everything. I don't need you to tell me how I should act or how "the real world is." I live in it, too. Bulk up, it's just the internet.

To tell you the truth, I just spit out random tidbits that have nothing to do with the subject at hand other than some loose connection I established in a train of thought.

I don't hate frats. To tell you the truth, HKN brothers can be downright helpful.

My train of thought progressed like this, TKE-Teg is ticketed a lot -> Maybe Teg can't park well -> Maybe meter maids are assholes -> I think there were TKE brothers towed from Food Lion last year -> I wonder if TKE brothers have problems parking -> Nah, coincidence -> I wonder if anyone else thought of this -> I don't think I like NYC -> I have heard parking is a big expense in cost of living in NYC -> Maybe NYC is overrated -> It might be a good idea not to post everything I think -> Bloomberg is an ass.

i don't have any authority to tell people how to respond. but as a witness to the conversation, i have the right to say that you sure do correct people all the time, and you sure do act like its impossible to repeat mistakes, shit like that. i don't doubt you're smart, and i don't doubt that you've grown up and usually been right, and i don't doubt that you make few mistakes.

i just point out my observations, and i think you really are oblivious to the fact that the further you move into real life, and the further you distance yourself from the dumb people and get into the good jobs and the good clubs and all, you're gonna see that you're not the smartest one around anymore. maybe i am pulling rank, or playing the older than you/real world card -- but its true

no one likes a know-it-all. and you're only a know-it-all because youre some hardly 20 year old college kid at a public university in shitty ass north carolina. that doesn't really impress anyone except other kids like yourself.

so I WILL TALK ABOUT REAL WORLD!!!1

Uh

I would assume it's a city who designates where on municipal streets that parking isn't allowed, and not, say, the apartment complex.

You're not being villified for blaming the guy (and honestly, at least one of those tickets is WTFworthy; the rest, I have very little sympathy for him for). TWW is meant for trolling. It's the accustory and cranky tone of your posts, and the fact that that is the tone of almost all your posts. Like, it's so pervasive that I put the 'almost' there as a JIC measure, and not because it's likely that there hasn't been a post of yours that's either accusatory, hypersensitive, or holier-than-thou.

You think I don't already know that? I wasn't even close to the smartest kid at NCSSM. That doesn't bother me in the least. I'm sorry you think you know me through what I feel like posting on the internet. I'm not a know-it-all, and I'm frequently wrong.

You really don't have to go fucking APESHIT on someone who has a different opinion on a situation. Seriously.

You misunderstand. He has a choice to live there: so I mean, it's not their fault he's living in a place with a no parking zone in front of it.

^^^^Do you have excessive tire wear from parking like that

The tightest fit I've seen was from the days when cars had bumpers and people would push the cars out of the way. Other than that:
