Has anyone read this? Is it worth reading to find out more about where Barack is coming from and why he's really thrown his hat into the ring?

I listened to it on CD. It was pretty good, but I've heard his first book was even better.

I checked it out of the public library up here (in Virginia). You may want to go online and reserve it, b/c chances are it may be on hold/waiting list.

I just finished it. He is a very intelligent man. The book gives great insight into his stance on many important issues and his ideas and suggestions on how to best approach them. His first book Dreams From My Father was also a very good read. After reading it you start to understand why he makes th Clintons so nervous.

I don't know that the Clinton's are nervous actually....I think they've lived in their own little bubble so long that they are confident in winning. But I think I'm going to read it, it may change my view on him because as of right now, his great speaking ability and calls for "change" don't exactly impress me.

I think he does an excellent job in the book outlining how his views are shaped on many issues, as well as why he wants to move past the shouting matches between radicals on the extreme right and left that too often dominate political discourse.
