service sucks, food sucks, its overpriced, overrun with roaches, and i have gotten sick twice there and have never been back, along with their $1 cover charge on the weekends, and the guy actually said its just enough to piss you off, and i said yeah, and left with about 20 people,

it was fine about 4 years ago, but is a shithole now

a few years ago i went there and ordered cheese fries. i got regular fries and said, "oh, i'm sorry, i asked for cheese fries!" she said nothing, walked away. at least ten minutes later she comes back and dumps a bowl of queso on top of my fries and then leaves.

man, that place used to be good...sounds like it went downhill (probably after Sammy took out the Jukebox from us playing Journey 24/7)

some memorable moments include 2 of us drinking 15 pitchers one day (got there at 5:30 for a Hurricanes playoff game and stayed till closing

of course, I haven't been there since 2002 or 2003, so that's plenty of time for the place to go to shit

we played the fuck out of NTN (PNorth FTW!)

I also have a chair from there on my deck...you know the onld painful ones with the red coering on the seat cushion

I've never really had a problem with the service. Sure, it's better at other places, but usually that's because the other places are less crowded. I can get service much easier there than I can any place I've been downtown, for example.

The food is a little bit sub-par, I'll grant. If I'm already there and I'm hungry I'll eat, obviously, but I don't go for the food.

All in all, not quite deserving of all this haterade.

ive never been much of a drinker (since i turned 21 forever ago). i spent a lot of time at sammys on tuesday nights for trivia, and a lot of time at either there or jax on random nights whenever i was with people who absolutely had to be seen somewhere, or pay 3 bucks for a beer.

it was kind of a compromise thing, at least that way after sitting around watching everyone drink all night, i wouldnt have to drive home through cop filled downtown, and i could just hop on gorman or centennial.

sammy's sucks.

-Sammy is a douche
- Overpriced beer
- A lot of the staff are dicks; there used to be this one jackass behind the bar that looked roided up espcially (not devin)
- the crowd is usually drunk meatheads that spend as much time comparing their dicks as watching sports.

that said i'd much rather hit up jax, ruckus, or even that new bar next to the wings place. the only reason i went there earlier this month was b.c i had a girl out to watch the Divisional playoffs and there was no where to sit at jax.

On topic, I'm not much on sports so I've never gone to Sammy's for that. I can see how it might not be great for that purpose, though, abundance of TV's notwithstanding. I generally only go for the music on Friday nights.

It's not BS. This was about 3 or 4 years ago. He installed cameras so employees wouldn't steal from him. I'm sure he wouldn't give a shit if employees stole from each other.
