1/26/2008 4:29:30 PM
1/26/2008 4:29:59 PM

1/26/2008 4:30:21 PM
paging 0EPII1
1/26/2008 4:30:43 PM
Damn, that son of a bitch probably has more water in it than Falls Lake right now
1/26/2008 4:31:13 PM
San Alfonso del Mar in Chile.....that's where it's located[Edited on January 26, 2008 at 4:32 PM. Reason : d]
1/26/2008 4:32:32 PM
http://www.sanalfonso.cl/ingles/html/desc_lag.htmlIts actually in Chile. And its a saltwater swimming pool, the water is pumped and filtered from the Pacific. It holds 2.5mil Liters. What is that in gallons?
1/26/2008 4:33:18 PM
ugh saltwater pools are awful on the skin and the eyes
1/26/2008 4:34:00 PM
^^ 2.5 million liters = 660 430.128 US gallons[Edited on January 26, 2008 at 4:35 PM. Reason : ]
1/26/2008 4:35:12 PM
that's some very clean, blue saltwater. beautiful
1/26/2008 4:35:17 PM
i wonder why they put that gigantor pool right next to the ocean. i lived at the beach until i was 18 and never understood why people have pools unless they have kids. there can't be enough kids there to necessitate a pool that big.
1/26/2008 4:35:24 PM
1/26/2008 4:36:06 PM
^^well some people want to go swimming or lay out and not get all sandy and salty.Have you ever been to a resort or hotel on the ocean? The pools are almost always packed.[Edited on January 26, 2008 at 4:38 PM. Reason : .]
1/26/2008 4:37:20 PM
there's got to be WAAAY more than 2.5 million liters in that thing
1/26/2008 4:38:15 PM
1/26/2008 4:38:34 PM
i believe a friend was there a few days ago
1/26/2008 4:38:37 PM
you can wash that shit off. it just seems like a waste of water to me, but i've been at the beach forever. i can see how people wouldn't want that i guess.
1/26/2008 4:38:47 PM
I was gunna call Dubai, but damn Chile has nice shit too.
1/26/2008 4:40:03 PM
1 gallon = approx. 3.8 liters. Just look at your gallon of milk next time.
1/26/2008 4:41:07 PM
how is it a waste if it's salt water from the ocean?
1/26/2008 4:41:15 PM
1/26/2008 4:45:17 PM
^^ didn't really read. my bad. i didn't realize it was ocean water. not a waste in that case, i just assumed it was hose-esque water like most pools.guess i'm the asshole. ahha
1/26/2008 4:49:10 PM
The 2.5 million liter number is insanely wrong.2,500,000 liters = 2,500 cubic meters8 hectares = 80,000 square metersthis would yield an average depth of 3.125 centimeters, or 1 and a quarter inches, making it the world's largest PUDDLE.]
1/26/2008 4:50:04 PM
is it the palm jumeriah?
1/26/2008 4:50:06 PM
I can just picture some dude out there with a garden hose, miserable look on his face, sighing and checking his watch repeatedly.
1/26/2008 4:50:10 PM
haha. i was thinking fire hydrant and big ol' hoses.goddamn i'm an idiot.but then again, why have a pool of salt water right next to the ocean? defeats the purpose of the pool imo.
1/26/2008 4:54:30 PM
It's filtered so it's clear, free of sand, free of waves, free of seaweed, all the nasty shit that gets all over you when you swim in the ocean. Given the choice my preferances for places to swim go:pool>>>>>>>ocean>lake
1/26/2008 4:56:55 PM
1/26/2008 4:58:39 PM
what about salt? that shit leaves a film all over your skin. is the water desalinated?( i didn't see it on the website )^read
1/26/2008 4:58:43 PM
1/26/2008 5:09:40 PM
I actually don't mind saltwater pools. It's no worse (and probably better) for your skin than a chlorinated pool. Hell, in a pool that size chlorination isn't an option anyway.
1/26/2008 5:11:16 PM
fuckin shit, u could get lost in that thing
1/26/2008 5:12:41 PM
never been in a salt water pool so i have no basis for comparison. is it really that different from the ocean though?!yeah, i guess it would be too big to chlorinate. never thought of that.
1/26/2008 5:14:03 PM
I go in a pool to get away form saltwater. Only time a saltwater pool is acceptable is on a cruiseship.I'm the type of swimmer that gathers water in the mouth sometimes so imagine my hateful surprise when they shit burns like fuck. Plus it gets in your eyes real bad and fucks your nose up if you go underwater at all.GOSH!!!!
1/26/2008 5:15:25 PM
I wonder how many people it would take to fill that thing up?
1/26/2008 5:15:47 PM
1/26/2008 5:15:54 PM
1/26/2008 5:18:16 PM
is this a lap pool now?Olympic training?
1/26/2008 5:18:29 PM
^Depends. I've competed in meets using university lap pools that were saltwater (not like ocean water, barium salts I believe).
1/26/2008 5:19:01 PM
I would rather have a chlorinated pool for lap swimming than a salt pool. I would rather have a chlorinated pool anyways.[Edited on January 26, 2008 at 5:20 PM. Reason : ^How were they?]
1/26/2008 5:19:50 PM
Ditto, just saying that they do exist.
1/26/2008 5:21:07 PM
me too.if you want a saltwater pool, move to the beach. cheaper to maintain
I could understand something like this in say kansasbut come on the ocean is right there!
1/26/2008 5:33:22 PM
Chlorine water on clothes smells like old cum after it dries up.
1/26/2008 6:28:47 PM
Paaaaaaaaaaaaaage
