traveler's checks are useless, nobody wants to take 'em. I thought people stopped using the things back in the 90s. The last time I even saw a traveler's check was when I was trying to buy food at hardees with one like in '96/'97 and they wouldn't take it.The newest thing for people without credit cards are these gift cards issued by CC companies, but they have problems too. For some reason the back of American Express's gift cards specifically say you can't purchase gas with it?!?! Yes, we use credit cards like most normal people. Only Canadians use Travelers ChecksOh, and old people.

in Korea I just used my debit card for things and planned on hitting up an ATM if I needed any cash but I changed over several hundred dollars at the airport and kept a portion of that on me at all times.
