$25 on Black Friday, bought two, gave one copy to a friend.
Dell on top because I couldn't fit it anyplace else. It's nice cause I can use it as a TV/ps2.

How much do you use the top monitor? I used to have a similar setup with 3 crts and an lcd on top in the middle. I never really used it for anything though. Now I have a 24" dell flanked by two 20.1" dells. I'll take pics when I get home I guess

I just setup the layout yesterday so I haven't had time to try this setup out too much. I'll end up using the Dell just to view video's and play ps2. Like you said, novel idea, but I may end up not using it like that. I would most likely have it on the side in portrait mode. I just ordered a new mobo, 2nd vid card, cables and gigabit switch to upgrade the main system. Really been waiting for the new quads so I'll wait some more.

EA publishes Valve's games for them, well a lot of them.

Kind of like how 2KGames helped publish/distribute Oblivion and Neverwinter Nights 2 was created by Obsidian Entertainment, published by Atari but everyone associates it with bioware (they even have a discussions forum for the game.)

The gaming industry has quite a bit of incest.

Haha. The title of the thread is "workstation/desktop". Which usually means up to 30". The big hdtvs might be under a thread titled "gaming/media". With computers, its more about resolution than massive size. Those 24"s are running at 1920 by 1200 which is higher than larger 1080p tvs. It wouldn't be practical to have a 1080p 52" at your desk. The resolution/size ratio would suck. It just wouldn't be as clear as having a 24" or 30" at 2560 by 1600. You just get WAY more pixels per square inch with a 24" or 30" than with a larger HDTV.

^^^ Meh, I'd be happier not knowing. EA is a monstrous evil thing that destroys most of what it touches (Origin for example.)

I shed a tear for Origin. The Wing Commander series were my PC games of choice during the mid 90s.

But yeah if you didn't think it was Orange Box, what other game do you know of that comes in a bright neon orange case like that?

^^ yeah, I don't like EA all that much either. They fucked up c&c generals. That game had high potential and they messed it all up. c&c3 is ok, but you loose the feel of the original c&c's.

I think alt-tabbing is way cheaper than buying 4 monitors for one computer.

mine is pretty much an exact replica of evan's

well the display part that is - i'm looking to just get a 1080p widescreen as a replacement as remote desktop can suck with dual monitors

I would have your kids if you had one massive synergy2 setup, controlling all those computers off a single mouse/keyboard

3 next to the laptop are running off of it, and the 5 on the glass desk are running off the desktop, and an old 486 laptop running winTV on that 19" lcd above it

and no it's not my setup, but it a close friend of mine (and of gs7) that i helped set stuff up for him before and built him a custom mediaPC... now he's pretty much an at home investor as a hobby, thus he likes his multi-monitor setup because of the ability to watch different charts, markets, etc...

i'll post mine maybe tomorrow night

yeah, almost every investor or broker I know have crazy monitor setups like that. In a fast pace competitive market, you have to be able to view a lot of info at one time.
