OMG THIS MUST BE NEWS! GET THE WRAL CHOPPER
1/21/2008 1:08:30 PM
The thread title should be *****ATTN: BARRY SAUNDERS*****
1/21/2008 1:20:55 PM
You damn well know all hell would have broke loose by now if this happened to UNC players while playing at NCSU, Duke, UVA, etc.
1/21/2008 1:22:11 PM
mwhahaha
1/21/2008 1:22:30 PM
I thought I heard that when I watched the game.
1/21/2008 1:25:51 PM
Be careful, you are going to anger Talage's sensibilities with threads like this./message_topic.aspx?topic=510918

Go forth, and return ye to the ghetto from whence ye came!
1/21/2008 1:29:52 PM
1/21/2008 1:33:36 PM
Seriously, call WRAL. You do know it was a UNC fan who called them about us (me), right?GET A ROPE.
1/21/2008 1:34:08 PM
1/21/2008 1:35:54 PM
haha no i did not
1/21/2008 1:36:57 PM
1/21/2008 1:42:35 PM
to be fair, college park is really a ghetto.
1/21/2008 1:55:02 PM
You see, the problem is that God's dumb ass had personally identifiable information readily available when he called Tywon Lawson a "n*****" in that thread. Plus I'm pretty sure he was deliberately using a racist word in a racist context. We have no idea who said this ghetto sentence and we certainly do not get all the context--was she talking about CP or generally a poor neighborhood where black people might come from? Regardless it's pretty stupid to call attention to something you didn't want brought back to you.[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 2:06 PM. Reason : .]

Who cares... Arizona State fans made fun of Steve Kerr for his dad dying. Duke fans have chanted some pretty unsavory things over the years. We have a bunch of idiots yelling "get a rope" last year. UNC has someone yell something stupid. What does this tell us? There are idiots everywhere...[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 2:05 PM. Reason : yelling in a figurative sense... still they posted it]
1/21/2008 2:01:08 PM
lol, I still remember the "I killed your grandfather" incident.
1/21/2008 2:02:10 PM
1/21/2008 2:03:17 PM
of course everyone has idiot fans...but the whole point is that whenever something like this happens to UNC, the media ignores it and when an obscure post is made in a 30 page thread on an unofficial NCSU website, it's all over the news.
1/21/2008 2:16:31 PM
"obscure post"ha ha, if onlyhow about "obscure, unnamed, unseen, unknown person yelling on the TV"are you really this stupid? is anyone?[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 2:26 PM. Reason : .]
1/21/2008 2:24:41 PM
^^ I'm playing devil's advocate but it was hardly one obscure post. There were probably 25-30 with the same sentiment...I personally don't think it was a big deal. It's just anonymous losers on the Internet saying shit they wouldn't dare say in public... nothing more.
1/21/2008 2:29:15 PM
1/21/2008 2:30:15 PM
1/21/2008 2:30:28 PM
wow, glad you can come in and call people names.watch i can do it to, your complete lack of understanding about the vastness of the internet makes it impossible for you to comprehend how one comment on a board with over 30,000 users is obscure. You are a fucking raging idiot with no understanding of the world around you.go back to the soap box and continue to make arguments that have no basis in economic theorycan anyone be as stupid as Madman?
1/21/2008 2:30:45 PM
so has anyone reported this already?
1/21/2008 2:36:11 PM
^^ "personally identifiable", idiothey let me know what other forums I've been posting in. saves me a few seconds of time trying to track down old posts.
1/21/2008 2:38:14 PM
So are we arguing about the definition of obscure now?And your argument is that God's one post on one of dozens of NCSU message boards is less obscure or not obscure at all as a racially derisive comment clearly broadcast over National Television from the student section at the Dean Dome?according to your head, obscure only means personally identifiable, and I suppose in the dimly lit world of developmentally disabled persons, this may be true. However, obscure means "of little or no prominence, note, fame, or distinction" to the rest of the world, idiot. No, I remember reading your posts because they generally lack any semblance of rational thought.[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 2:44 PM. Reason : t]
1/21/2008 2:42:20 PM
If I was to go by the dictionary definition of the word I wouldn't have gone out of my way to understand the word the way your shit for brains was trying to convey it.**Find me those twelve message boards, you exaggerating son of a bitch. I can think of two that people would actually call an NCSU sports message board: TWW-ST and Pack Pride. I'm always looking for new ones though![Edited on January 21, 2008 at 2:45 PM. Reason : **]
1/21/2008 2:44:07 PM
this doesn't seem to affect UNC recruiting at all.
1/21/2008 2:44:29 PM
so now you are arguing that the common definition and understanding to the general population and the dictionary are too difficult for you to grasp?I'll buy that argument.just off the top of my head, pack pride, tww, sfn, section six, redandwhitefromncstate, packontheprowl, thestateofthepack, thestruttinwolf...just because you don't know about them doesn't mean that they don't exist[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 2:48 PM. Reason : idiot]
1/21/2008 2:46:19 PM
Tell me what was obscure about a clearly racist rant after a devastating loss to a bitter rival on one of two heavily frequented, heavily posted NCSU sports message boards on the vastness of the internet?
1/21/2008 2:48:12 PM
what is obscure about it is that God is of little or no importance to anyone except his mother. His opinion is and should be worthless just like yours, mine, and the girl at the UNC game. However, when it is someone from NCSU, all of a sudden it's news.
1/21/2008 2:49:56 PM
You can list until your fingers get numb but it's not going to change the fact that 95% of NCSU sports message board posts come from two boards.
1/21/2008 2:50:15 PM
and you can deny reality as long as you want to but that won't change it
1/21/2008 2:50:46 PM
What would you like the news headline to be? UNKNOWN, UNSEEN FAN AT UNC-MD GAME SHOUTS WORDS THAT MIGHT BE CONSIDERED RACIST
1/21/2008 2:51:53 PM
I suppose if your angry ass was to write it, that might be the headline...I would prefer something like "UNC Fans Bitter Over Loss Make Racially Derisive Comments"Seriously, it was national news when someone unknown, unseen, and possibly not even an NCSU student looped some toilet paper into what someone thought was a noose and left in a fucking shit stall. And here, people just ignore it because its UNC[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 3:03 PM. 1/21/2008 2:52:56 PM
To be fair it was reported on the Sporting News blog... which is more than it probably deserves... It's not like it's totally swept under the rug... I don't even remember the stuff on WRAL that much, but it surely wasn't a big headline or a huge story.. it was sort of in passing.[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 2:54 PM. Reason : x]

recently i've been hollering at a certain female anchor working at one of the local stations. i'm debating whether this is worthwhile enough to send to her and/or her producer.

1/21/2008 3:51:15 PM
According to Madman:Racist statement* said in the middle of a thread on an NCSU message board, viewed by a few thousand college kids at the time, and probably sent to maybe a few thousand more, no children seeing it obviouslyis worse thanRacist statement said on live television, broadcast on ESPN, watched by a couple million households (including children, most likely), and now on youtube with almost 3,000 views*For the sake of this, I'm not going to argue about the racist intentions, or lack thereof, in my post. But for those of you who know me, you can make your own conclusions.
1/21/2008 4:13:07 PM
This is stupid.I guess you don't mind when an N & O reporter with an agenda overhears one frustrated comment and uses it to write a series of columns about the "classless" NCSU fanbase. In other news, State fans shoot each other in the parking lot.One fan ----> fanbase
1/21/2008 4:34:00 PM
I think the most important thing to draw from that video is the fact that UNC's student section ACTUALLY KNOWS THE WORDS TO AND SINGS THEIR ALMA MATER, something our student section can't seem to muster the ability to do
1/21/2008 4:45:53 PM
i did it at the miami game, as did a lot of people around me.
1/21/2008 4:46:46 PM
^good, keep it upbut we're still not as loud as that video by any means
1/21/2008 4:52:07 PM
^^^^I'm not saying that they should write "UNC fans are racist," however they should bring it to the attention of the local community that comments like that are being said at the basketball games.[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 4:52 PM. Reason : ]
