i think i will have to stick with contacts now considering girls that never paid attention to me before are all like, "you look so awesome without glasses" or "you really do have beautiful eyes" or "i never noticed how good you looked"

who on here has optical deficiencies and what is your preference...glasses or contacts?

Contacts all the way. i cant drive without some kind of lenses my vision is so bad but i just recently got Acuvue 2 oaysis and they are awesome! they feel much better than the traditional lenses i used to have.

I prefer glasses because i can easily take them off anytime i want and i don't have to worry about taking them out. Also when you workout it sucks to have contacts on in my experience (sweat in eyes sucks ass with contacts). I might be biased because i can see most things without glasses.

^^i thought that also...i had glasses for 3 years until now. I will keep both, however i found that contacts would be useful in certain situations and glasses in others. I like the attention not wearing glasses has given me, but i still like glasses, especially the new pair i just got

Astigmatism ftl

I'd gladly get them if I could get the ones most people buy, but contacts are hella expensive for those of us with odd shaped eyeballs.

I do like the way I look in my glasses, but it's ftl in some situations. Riding a jet-ski (water spray)...FTL. Camping on the beach and having no way to clean your dirty glasses...FTL.

Not to mention I don't like "clip on" sunglasses so I spent ~$375 each on my last two pairs. They're just $120 Ray Bans with another $250 in nice polarized lenses. If someone steals them I'm screwed and they won't even be able to use them either.

I like contacts but generally wear my glasses. The glasses are nice and don't piss my eyes off over time. The astigmatism contacts aren't perfect either. My glasses are usually better for that reason alone.

Also, the whole "you look so awesome without glasses" thing can often times mean you have bad taste in glasses. I used to wear ass-ugly glasses too and got the same comments.

Just say no to tortoise shell glasses.

I wore thin wire framed glasses (Nauticas mostly) for at least 7 years, but my most recent purchase was a pair of Gucci tortoise shell glasses that actually do look really good. I tried tortoise shell glasses the last time I went shopping for them (4-5 years ago?) and when I tried them on I looked stupid. Maybe you mature into them or something.

These are very thin frames though, so you can't tell they are tortoise shell unless you are really close.

It also matters whether you wore retarded large-lens tortoise shell glasses with brass accents or high-styled gucci glasses.

I'd always been dressed and accessorized like I was fairly poor, so we got the lens craft special for my glasses.

I'm glad to have found a reasonably priced pair of glasses now that doesn't look like complete shit. Also I love contacts for driving at night. It's seriously a world of difference and made me a much better night driver and improved my night vision (my eyes focused better on stoplights and taillights after I wore contacts for a few months and still do focus better than they did before).

I might have to order some contacts again, I just never have the patience in the morning to put them in.

contacts 99% of the time. gotta get money's worth out of the ray bans i just got for christmas. got glasses in the 1st grade and contacts in the 8th and haven't gone back really.

i break out the glasses when i want to give the eyes a rest for a day or two. or when i'm lazy.
