http://money.cnn.com/2008/01/15/technology/simons_clones.fortune/index.htm?postversion=2008011515so this got me thinking, would you clone your childhood pet? i had a basset hound, Lady, growing up, and she died 2.5 years ago. my parents set up a little table with photos and a box with her ashes in the spot where she slept in the kitchen. my younger sister still lives there and misses Lady often. i wonder how she would feel about getting a cloned Lady for her birthday?

No, animals still develop their own personality. So, all you would have is an animal that looks the same, and not necessarily act the same. I would not want that.Plus, I just don't think I believe in it.[Edited on January 15, 2008 at 8:10 PM. Reason : ]

There was a this american life tv show episode about it. This dumbass texas redneck cloned his pet bull. The clone behaved completely different from the original bull and ended up goring his dumbass several times before the idiot decided to give him up.

i've actually been toying with the idea of getting some blood from my dog for the past year or so to save and clone when the process is cheaper and more reliablei think this is going to be his last year, so i'm probably going to do it soonhttp://www.viagen.com/en/our-services/preserving-your-pets/wish it didn't cost so damn much

Yes. If only I could have my Percy back... If only he'd be the same.but since he will just be another dog, different personality, same appearance, I might as well get another black Pug. They all look similar, if not alike. At least he wasn't fat like ~90% of all Pugs.]
