Actually its safer. Backing out is FAR more dangerous than pulling through 2 spots, allowing you to pull out forward with increased visibility. Of course, all that shit goes out the window when the second spot you're trying to pull into has a car in it...

i've driven lifted up rams, fj45s, 55s, and 80s (towing fj40s) around and never had a problem backing them up or driving them around

you guys whine and bitch too much in here.

you might be able to build it high or put on 4 tool boxes to compensate for fuckin ego problems. ...but if u cant drive it fuck off and go buy a civic.

and don't give me 'these trucks are hard to drive' bc fuckin 18 wheelers back into my work every damn day down our retardedly small and curvy loading dock and have not had a problem yet.

Your field of view is much smaller and obstructed when backing up then going forward. Even then, you still have blind spots that you can't help.

The argument you brought up does not include whether or not hitting a vehicle going forward or in reverse is worse, but whether if 69's original claim of this incident being the first is valid. I would say that, even with the other thread as evidence, that 69's claim is true. He states that his prior experiences of backing up yielded a high percentage of incidents that involved him hitting a vehicle due to poor visibility while in reverse. To reduce risk and avoid future incidents, 69 tries to manage to park his vehicle by driving through two slots to have the front of his vehicle facing outward in a parking spot.

I would like to note that his previous claims of collisions involve the back of his vehicle and not the front. Therefore, the collisions/incidents are not the same as the one that befell on 69 in this case.
