1. Customer Service- when something is down, ie photo gallery, and I complain about it, I don't want to be told to stop my bitching. I want a reason why its down and a time frame when it'll be up. 2. Proper moderating- This should go without explanation. There is a huge thread advocating the removal of some mods, if the ownership wishes to keep them, please let us know why. They play favorites, they suspend without justifying their reasons and it appears they are accountable to no one.3. Fix features that made tdub awesome- school tool, rides, book exhange. Update them, give users incentive to use them.4. More fun - Have egg hunt type events quarterly, they'll boost traffic to this site for those periods of time and users love them.

Feedback Forum is not Chit Chat #2, unless you're a mod and feel like trying to turn a legitimate thread into an opportunity to beat your chest.

how much do you think that you are (as well as most users) willing to pay for all of that? or do you expect most users should get that for free?

the photo gallery was down for about 9 hours. there is a bug in the original tww code that causes it to break about once every three months. this has happened ever since jake started the site. in order to get the photo gallery back up, we need to make some code modifications and restart the server each time. we are still looking for the root cause of the problem, but it requires going line by line in the over 60,000 lines of code that make up tww. jake used to fix it more quickly (making users notice it less) because he was frequently on the site when something broke or a user would call him and he would restart the server/change some code. im sorry that the photo gallery breaks from time to time, but we know how to fix it and it shouldnt be down more than 12 working hours.as to the point about customer service, there are over 30,000 users on the site. we are not going to personally send a pm to a select few every time a minor feature breaks. it would take longer to notify everyone than it would to fix the problem. why do you care about the reason something breaks or not? dont you just want it fixed as quickly as possible?we just added a backend feature that allows us to see which mod is suspending which user and a reason for the suspension. this will give us more data to see what is going with the day to day operations.like ive said numerous times, the code we are working with here is old (from 2001) and very poorly documented. if i had it my way, we would have all of the features running, with lots of users using them each day. in reality, we're stuck with old, outdated code with no documentation. we're STILL trying to figure out what everything does.from what ive heard, we're much more involved with the site than the old owners were over the last two years. we will keep making improvements and stay involved in the future.[Edited on January 14, 2008 at 1:04 PM. Nael, I appreciate your feedback in this thread, I really do. Its a good step forward in the customer service. I do not expect you to PM every user that asks you about a bug/problem with the site. How about having some kind of thread or area on the front page of bugs/features you're working on. When the ads starting popping up, you did good by responding to BigBlueRam's screenshots of ads. The user tag function was good as well. If we had a page that basically said "hey I'm working on these features or bugs, I expect them to be done X" that would appease a lot of people. As far as mods are concerned, well, it'd would be nice if you started holding them accountable for their actions. However, how about just starting from a clean slate. I mean there is a 18 page thread calling for Beardawgs removal. I have been polite in this thread and other threads, but no matter how a suggestion to replace the moderation is worded, the current mods love to beat their chests and insult. That is not customer service.

In all seriousness, I think the photo gallery was one of the features that sent users in droves to this site years ago. That feature needs to be updated, easier uploading, a way to embed pictures on other boards, and more storage for standard users would be a start.
