im not trying to be sarcastic or a douche or anythingbut i wonder how hard/successful it would be to go buy some dough and cheese and garlic sauce stuff to make your own pokey-like sticks

aha gumby's is closed?the things i miss not being at state or a tww dork.^oh, and i agree. they sell the freakin breadsticks you can just unthaw/open up and stick in the oven. add granulated garlic (or garlic salt) and lots of cheese and there you go.]

yea it would be hard to duplicate but maybe the result would be just as good, but different

I briefly worked at gumbys ten years agothe dough is made from water, bread flour, canola/soybean oil, salt and yeastthe cheese is part-skim mozzand they brush the dough with garlic "butter" (hydrogenated veg oil)knock yourself out

whats the red pizza sauce made out ofother than just saying marinara
1/13/2008 11:55:19 AM
unthaw = freeze jp
1/13/2008 11:59:40 AM
^^if I remember correctly, it came from a can
1/13/2008 12:01:42 PM
no offense but i think that is actually less helpful than if u had just said marinara

I'm currently undertaking the task of attempting to replicate the pokey stix, the dough is made and I'm waiting for it to rise need to go pick up the mozzarella and make the garlic butterThanks for the input 392, plus I'm working off of one thing I found onlinehttp://www.kerner.net/archives/recipes/calzones_pokey.html
1/13/2008 12:18:47 PM
let us know how it turns out
1/13/2008 12:21:23 PM
btw any clue what goes into the "pokey dust" or whatever, i'm pretty sure parmesian and garlic but anything else?
1/13/2008 12:22:39 PM
^^also, RIP gumby's [Edited on January 13, 2008 at 12:23 PM. Reason : ,]

just try w/ the parmesan and garlic and see how it goes
1/13/2008 12:23:38 PM
I think my garlic butter mix was pretty good but I needed to use more chese and my dough never got the right consistency, texture was all wrong

I'm gonna save this recipe and give it a shot sometime this week... Let us know if there's anything we could do different to make it better..Thanks!
