what'd you cut it on? looks fairly symmetrical
1/10/2008 8:37:13 PM
whoa Ian
1/10/2008 8:38:56 PM
cut it with thisFucker was sharp...it sliced into my finger on an angle down to the bone, barely missing the tendon
1/10/2008 8:39:49 PM
ouch...were you doing some kind of twisting cutting motion on a vegetable or something? just wondering about the shape of the cutor i guess you couldve just come from nail towards knuckle and cut it that way (ouch)[Edited on January 10, 2008 at 8:42 PM. Reason : .]
1/10/2008 8:42:15 PM
holy shit, dude
1/10/2008 8:43:11 PM
I honestly dont know. I wasnt even cutting. I went to grab my knife and hit the handle instead, which spun the blade around, and it sliced into me as i tried to catch it.It happened too quickly to see how it hit me exactly, i just know when i finally looked down after i felt the "bite" of it, my hand was covered in blood and i could see bone and the exposed joint[Edited on January 10, 2008 at 8:45 PM. You know you have a good knife when you cut yourself and don't notice until you see blood.
1/10/2008 8:46:57 PM
well shit, try not to bend it much so you don't impede the healing (although i guess if you've got stitches its not as important)
1/10/2008 8:47:24 PM
Its right behind the knuckle, so the doc put my hand and wrist in a splint to keep me from bending it. Otherwise the stitches/flesh would rip pretty easily. The lidocaine is starting to wear off and its swelling....fucker is starting to hurt
1/10/2008 8:49:58 PM
Blood makes the meal taste better.

1/10/2008 9:32:22 PM
Ouch, how deep did that go?

One of my friends did something like that with a big butcher knife one night. This girl said her hair was too long; so he grabbed her ponytail, stuck it on the deck railing, and tried to chop it with a butcher knife. The knife went into his thumb and nearly seared it off right above the nail. Then nobody would drive him to the hospital because they were all too fucked up to go anywhere, so he called an escort service/prostitution ring run by one of his friends. One of the prostitutes offered to come pick him up and take him to the hospital.I seriously want to set this guy up with a blog. I'll put my google adsense ads on there and make bank.

yikes at least you didn't cut yourself with uncooked spaghetti and that you didn't cut a finger off! my friends mom had that happen to her [Edited on January 10, 2008 at 10:07 PM. Reason : s]

I had a nice blood trail back to my apartment when i decided to do pencil fighting with a 40 and whiskey bottle. Lots of blood everywhere. Next morning on my way to the doctor some chick stepped out of her apartment and asked her friend why there was blood all over the ground.

1/10/2008 10:17:49 PM
knives arent scary. Just dont do some stupid shit like i did and try to blindly reach for one and try to catch it before it falls. Especially not if its sharp as fuck

that's a plus at leastbut check into it....a lot of restaurants have cut proof gloves available. yeah, they're annoying, but they can prevent shit like this from happening.they've saved my nubs a couple of times in the past
1/10/2008 11:17:35 PM
Ive used those before, and i freaking despise them. You lose so much dexterity with them, not to mention having to constantly change them, or wash them off every time you switch from handling veggies to meats. its easier to just wash your hands. Im at my most careless when im not actively handling my knife, and thats when shit like this happens. i just need to slow down and pay more attention
1/10/2008 11:22:40 PM
sad day for ians

Hope you're okay. I cut my thumb while cleaning a meat slicer once. Thank God it wasn't running--but it still sliced me to the bone. The PA popped in three staple with no anesthesia--it hurt like hell.
