i like the 17 inch a lot.

Objectively, it has imitation 5.1 Dolby Surround sound. A humble 1.3MP integrated camera. And an epilepsy inducing flashing LENOVO logo on the top cover. To some consumers, these are pluses.

I will use headphones. I will use the camera only for the facial scan login capability. And you cannot see the flashing logo during use.I want it because I badly need a new laptop but also want to game occasionally, and Lenovo has finally come through with a solution. The hot switching overclock feature could be nifty.

So, you pay the extra for 5.1 surround and use headphones. Then use a primative facial scan technology that's atleast 10 years old (http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2008/01/lenovos-new-fac.html). And you don't mind annoying the person sitting across from you. I guess everyone has their own tastes.P.S.Have you guys noticed that the arrow keys are on the right side of the keyboard? Useful for the leftys I guess. Besides, using arrow keys for gaming are about as old as Frogger. You can't reload and duck from flying bullets at the same time. Nor can you press CTRL and drag to select your horde of armies. Great idea, but lacking in practicallity.

thats funny i wanted a gaming laptop for a ddr3 equipped graphics card and had to deal with all the flashy shit to get it ... i would have loved a plain jane lenovo with a good graphics card and a 7200rpm drive

^ True. Looks like they dropped the ball in several design points if they were looking to breach the gamer market. (though the price is pretty nice)Still, I only really want to play my old school collection, which would hardly cause this box to break a sweat (Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, Final Fantasy 7 & 8, Far Cry, etc.)
