hey, i'll do this for you, but i want you to do something for me -- answer a quick question:whats with the dollar a vote thing? why dont they just donate the money and ask for the votes? i think its pretty shitty, but am open to reason. seriously, why don't they just give up the 50k instead of all the games? same thing goes with that 20 grains of rice per correct answer game. it makes me feel like i'm playing right into the hands of the guys who are gonna go out with the graphs next month saying they get 1000000000 unique pageviews a month and sell 10 times that much in ads.
1/23/2008 12:04:10 AM
Each group gets a dollar per vote regardless of whether they win the $50K. So it is actually a very generous contest. Please vote up until 11:59pm tonight. Keep this at the top!

Great news! Please read the email below from the President of the NRGRR!NRGRR supporters, The verdict is in for the most anticipated election in Golden Retriever history! It was a morning filled with anxiety and hope, but when we finally clicked that refresh button on the internet browser and the firedog advertisement changed from "Check back here on Jan 28" to "Meet the winning dog" we held our breath. When we saw "Congratulations Hank!", it was almost too amazing to believe! http://www.firedogkodakcontest.com/ This is such an unbelievable, heartwarming, fabulous experience for our organization. The support that our volunteers experienced from the community, adopters, friends, family, co-workers, fellow rescuers, businesses, acquaintances and even strangers was overwhelming. Hank was mentioned on at least three different radio programs. He was posted on many different web communities, blogs, facebook pages, and distribution lists. Golden Retriever rescue organizations across the country posted him to their volunteer lists, newsletters and websites. Our volunteers proudly wore their "Vote for Hank" buttons at the fairgrounds and encouraged people to vote. They set up laptops at the adopt-a-thon and concession sales to allow people to immediately vote. Hank was in the News and Observer and the Triangle Business Journal. Volunteers posted flyers across the Triangle and posters in their car windows and on their mailboxes - anything to get out the vote. He had votes from Canada, Singapore, Venezuela, Grand Cayman, Poland, Russia, England, Germany, France and probably many more countries! As the next Firedog, Hank will be starring in a national Circuit City commercial. He will soon head to California to begin his career as "Hollywood Hank". NRGRR will also receive the amazing $50,000 grand prize, along with $1 for every vote Hank received. That will be a HUGE help in rescuing and rehabilitating Golden Retrievers since our annual vet expenses can exceed $90,000. I want to thank every single person who voted for Hank. Your vote made a difference to all of the Goldens we will rescue this year! And thanks to everyone who recruited at least one other person to vote. We couldn't have done it without you! We are so blessed to have your support. Please stay in touch and come see us at the Valentines Party or Summer Reunion! Jennifer EdwardsPresident, NRGRR
