I am trying to disable Norton Internet Security and having problems. The only program I have installed on my computer that is associated with Norton is Symantec Antivirus (The one that the university gives us for free). I somehow have Norton Internet Security as a firewall too, although I never installed it. Unless it installed with Symantec Antivirus I'm not sure how it got on there. Anyway, I'm trying to disable my firewall so I can connect something to my PC. I have disabled my Windows Firewall via Network Connections/Properties/etc. but my Windows Security Center still reports Norton Internet Security as running. I've tried googling and everything says "Open up Norton Internet Security" and disable it from there. I don't physically have an application for it though. I've scoured my computer and I can't find it installed anywhere, even though Security Center claims it is running. Anyone have any ideas?

Download the Norton Removal tool and run that, it will completely get rid of the Internet Security program but w/o getting rid of Symantec (I think).I think this is a link to it:http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
