I picked up a 95 legacy wagon with a 2.2, 130k. It has been well maintained and came with recipts. I have had it since thanksgiving and put 2k on it.

it sometimes is hard to start, you have to turn it over for 15-30 seconds and it will start, but then acts like its flooded. if you feather the throttle it will smooth out and run like a champ. it did it 2 weeks ago, then has started normally until tonight. It was warm, and had been sitting for less than ten minutes when I attempted to restart it. It was idling very high and wouldnt I couldnt kick the fast idle off. It did drive fine and ilded normally at lights on the way home. when i got home, I shut it down and started it back, it was fine. what the hell is going on? there is no pattern. the check engine light is on now ( really? no shit subaru). where can I get a scanner on the cheap that is decent? autozone will only hook onto 96+ models, so they say.
