I just read more carefully and it says he was "shaking the piggy bank"how do you shake $20 worth of change out of a piggy bank?
1/5/2008 1:18:12 AM
Ok when you break into a house you have to figure you only have a limited amount of time.Is the best way to spend that time shaking the money out of a piggy bank?
1/5/2008 1:21:25 AM
Twenty bucks in quarters would be fairly manageable.Perhaps dollar coins as well?
1/5/2008 1:22:40 AM
why not take the piggy bank?
1/5/2008 1:23:41 AM
The person who broke into my house stole nickels from my dad's room.Fucking nickels.

Some guy broke into the office where I used to work. He stole a small amount of money out of my boss's office, and he stole my Hershey's chocolate bar out of the break room.

dude i can think of a certain 2 year old girl that i've given tons of quarters too. i also made a huge point of trying to teach her to save them every time i give her more (or as it ended up, whenever she tries to hit my pockets up, ha ha). so we popped the head off some dora the explorer thing or some doll and put the money inside the body of the doll. guess i also taught her about stash spots anywayswhether this one guy is guilty or not, any guy who would even go through a little girls room looking for shit to steal is a scumbag. one who would steal a little girl's life savings is a crackhead scumbag.but im putting myself in the shoes of the person who talks to the little girl about this. she learned an important life lesson about scumbags and why we would stash the savings in the first place. it also taught me a lesson, and i'll probably (unfortunately) have to start giving her deposit receipts for my change instead of the actual change. it was fun to teach a kid that the one quarter was worthless, but if we saved up a bunch we could go get toys. apart from the fact that im obviously an awesome person (ha ha), this article made me think about one more thing:I wonder how much that DNA testing cost the taxpayers. Seems silly to run down DNA...maybe if there was evidence someone could have been attacked. And I say this as someone who would savagely murder a man who attacked a 2 year old girl, and someone who thinks its a scumbag thing to do to break a kid's innocence like that and shake down her damned piggy bank especially when my case where the police CSI unit pulled good latent prints off a break-in where things of value > $20 were taken, and they still haven't attempted to match the prints to anything.... and the detective told me he doubted they would care to anytime soon -- but this town pulls a DNA match in 4 months.one more thing, while i'm ranting (albeit quietly) -- 10000 cash bond on a guy who obviously is so broke he would steal 20 from a kid?talk about excessive. i sure hope the new president delves into the world of bondsman relationships with magistrate and sheriff departments across the country.this one is depressing on so many levels, and i hate that it ends on the note that i actually feel somewhat bad for a douchebag who would steal from a kid. Have a fucking heart, 30 year old guy. You too, police. If we didn't have to pick up the tabs on all this shit, we could have had more than 20 bucks in the girl's piggy bank to begin with!!!1

the charge is felony burglary.i would think 10K is the low end of the bond range.he'll probably get it pled down to some misdemeanor, if he doesnt have a record.chances are, he's got a record... so fuck him.what idiot breaks into a little kids room anyhow, $20 or not. a nigga get shot for less.[Edited on January 5, 2008 at 1:49 AM. The DNA evidence probably came from the blood he left on the scene.
1/5/2008 1:55:59 AM
i know what the charge is dude, i was just pointing out that a guy who was so broke he resorted to stealing 20 bucks from a girl who is barely out of diapers tells me that a number a lot less than 10000 would have done fine as a bond, not that its in any way out of the ordinary for the crime. thats why i made my public plea for bond reform!but i guess i shouldnt take away from the main point, the guy sucks if he did it. if i wanna talk about bondsmen and their friends inside the magistrates office and the department of insurance, then i should go to soapbox. just kidding i vowed to stay out of jail and harms way from now on!^genius observation. it said so in the article, also.[Edited on January 5, 2008 at 2:00 AM. i hear ya bout the bondsmen. ive known a few, socially, and they were about as crooked as half the losers locked up. ive also been on the wrong side of the plexiglass window a few times, and ive been glad to see the motherfuckers come and take my money.yeah, its a rigged system. but it keeps a large pct of the scumbags off the street, or at least showing up to court. if everyone could easily afford bond, then it wouldnt be any big deal to skip out on court dates.if you dont want to pay, then dont play. ive found its pretty easy to stay out of jail, if you just dont act like an idiot.. now i can start getting shit expunged, even.
1/5/2008 2:23:52 AM
its true, i havent had a case since like october 06. and that was just because i was totally fucking stupid and did stupid shit to someone who didnt deserve it. its pretty easy to stay out of trouble. it also helps to pay off probation money off 6 months early and get your probation dropped to unsupervised. not having a PO tends to help you stay away from jail.i still dont think that a guy who makes 60k a year and a guy who makes 12k a year should have the same bond for the same crimebut thats constitutional interpretation, i guess. to me, unreasonable refers to bond as a percentage of income, the ability to pay and all that. my income now makes a 10000 dollar bond seem a lot less than it seemed back when i didnt have income, so thats where that idea comes fromanyways im going to bed like a good kid. i have to go to a wedding tomorrow for my cousin. aka my attorneys daughter. aka its also easy to keep the harassment minimized when your family runs shitWORD[Edited on January 5, 2008 at 2:35 AM. What I don't get is, if someone steals $20, they break out the DNA evidence and do the testing to convict him, but if a guy charged with rape claims DNA evidence will save him, they don't do it, lock him up, and release him when DNA tests are finally done 2 decades later.
