The Patriots, bound by the salary cap as is every other team in the NFL, are really, really good. The best team ever, given they win a few more games. So why the hate?I understand the hatred for the Yankees, they buy their championships, but the NFL is about as even as it gets and it's very very difficult to dominate repeatedly as the patriots have this decade. So why the hate? The cameras thing? Every team does that and more. I hardly believe that cameras have produced dominance.

People hate what is amazingly good and has success.25 years ago no one cared about Duke. Now there are legions who hate them. 15 years ago no one knew what UConn was. Now there are tons of people who hate them...Just jealousy mostly... If anyone should hate them it's me, a Jets fan... but I sort of like Brady. He isn't a dick and he is calm and gets it done... plus he always looks like he is having fun...[Edited on December 29, 2007 at 11:33 PM. Reason : i'm talking nationally...]

I have no reason to hate the patriots. I have no reason to love them. But I watched this season and what I saw I will likely never see again. They were really, really good (minus the game at baltimore). I understand OUR hatred for Duke, they're our rivals and they're good... but all of you north carolina people who hate the patriots... what gives? Why do you even care?[Edited on December 29, 2007 at 11:33 PM. Reason : .]

He's actually pretty funny... he calls in to the Morning Sports show out here (he's from San Mateo, which is close by)... they played him the "Brady" parody on youtube and he had a great time with it...I just don't get it... he isn't a holier than thou dick like Eli... he isn't a piece of shit like Vick... soon to be 4 Super Bowl rings...you must of not watched the 60 Minutes interview with Brady last week....he sure didnt seem like a douche....actually, he didnt really care about going undefeated or another Super Bowl, seemed pretty down to earth to me. He was wondering why such a big deal was being made of it...[Edited on December 29, 2007 at 11:39 PM. Reason : w]

It's called overexposure......the Patriots themselves do nothing, it's the media hype machine that puts them in the news 24/7 that people can't stand. Everything gets old, especially a dynasty like the Patriots. Then add the Spygate scandal, a coach who has as much personality as a peanut and a #1 WR who only plays when he's happy (aka this year), and it all kind of makes sense.

Brady gets hated on more than Manning and Petyon is the most overexposed athlete in the history of sports... even more than Jordan. It's the winning, plain and simple...^ so everyone who supports Philip Rivers' team supports cheating too[Edited on December 29, 2007 at 11:42 PM. Reason : x]

1. cheaters2. tom brady is a fucking bitch(radio comments, on field bitching prove this. he seems like a douche in every radio interview i've heard anyway.)3. rodney harrison is a fucking bitch(on field actions)4. they are probably the least classy team in the NFL despite their visage of class5. they are good6. they get help from the refs. omg, number 31 fell down out of bounds, A GIANT MUST HAVE HIT HIM7. I don't really hate the Patriots, but I just hate those asshole bandwagon fans, especially the ones from up North in New England that don't know shit about football. Now I'm not saying there aren't ones that know football, but whenever I'm up North visiting friends, especially in Boston, there are just so many that don't know football or just sports in general for that matter. I've watched football games around a bunch of them and I've had to explain the rules to some of them and even educate them on the strategy that a certain coach has employed. There is just so many of them that are ignorant when it comes to football. They just go to the bar, get drunk, halfway watch the game, and loudly argue and complain amongst each other about the coach, the coverage being used, etc. all while sounding like dumbasses b/c they don't know shit.I think what the Patriots did was outstanding and proves that there are still athletes out there that put the team first.

It's quite simple. People are sick and tired of hearing about them. People are going to hate any team that gets all the talk/hype, so yeah, the teams that always win are going to get hated on... welcome to the spotlight. This and the idea that if the Patriots really are as dominant as you hear ad infinitum then why do they need to cheat to secure a win? Why do they need a few calls to secure a win? This is the first Patriots game I've watched this year and it seemed like they were helped by:1) A no call/no ejection on that eye jab.2) What should have been a holding call when one of their guys had both arms wrapped around one of the Giants player's necks.3) That personal foul call because that one Giants guy talked some smack after getting tackled near the out of bounds line - especially bad considering that it looked like the Patriots were picking fights the entire night.A dominant team shouldn't have to resort to these things to win, but at least we all get to hear how great they are in the upcoming months, even during games they aren't playing in.[Edited on December 30, 2007 at 12:18 AM. 12/30/2007 1:00:16 AM
wes welker also pisses me off. he avoids contact more than almost anyone i've seen. lower your shoulder you pussy
12/30/2007 1:02:12 AM
They broke the rules of the NFL. Period. Stop fucking dismissing it. Would they have been just as good without doing it? Yeah. But the fact still remains. They broke the rules of the NFL. Just because you guys keep saying "everyone else is doing it (with no proof, btw)" doesn't make it any less true. That's why I brought up Bonds. Folks who dismiss the Pats camera thing sound just like Bonds apologists.
12/30/2007 1:04:11 AM
How could this thread go this far and not include Belichick or how much of an ass he is?Or the fact that they pile it on puny teams like the Dolphins and go for it on 4th down?
12/30/2007 1:05:02 AM
it's all the bandwagon fans and the constant media dick sucking
12/30/2007 1:06:01 AM
Hell no, welker is smart as shit. As a slot receiver and a really small guy, he is way more exposed to injury-causing, fumble-causing hits. No need to take a hit for one more meaningless yard. Plus, he will lower his shoulder to make the first down, unlike reggie bush. The guy just understands down and distance and the game situation.
12/30/2007 1:09:21 AM
short maybe, but i bet he weighs at least 215. regardless, its something to bitch about since all the other stuff has been mentioned

Why does it matter that their coach is an ass? His job isn't to be a nice person it is to coach a team. This isn't college football, it is the NFL. If they want to score 10000 points vs. the Dolphins then so be it. Stop them, I don't understand why you shouldn't run it up in a league where everyone is being paid. Go do your job and stop them. That is like saying Microsoft should quit selling Windows because other OS aren't selling as much. Get real, these are pros it isn't little league you fucking pussies. And as far as the "breaking the rules, they used cameras" bullshit, it has no affect on the season. There is reason to believe all teams do it, and your kidding yourself if you think the pats are the only team that has thought of doing this. I remember watching a college football game not long ago and the coach was signaling plays behind a wall over players and two of them holding up a towell to block the signals. Why do you think he was doing that? Perhaps because the other team was trying to steal them? I doubt he wanted to use his players as a human wall just to get their worth in scholarship money out of them. The whole they are cheaters thing isn't like steriods in any way. One directly helps someone, the other didn't help the team in anyway this season. Hate them because you are a fan of another team, and hate them because you are sick of espn sucking their dick, but to hate them because their coach is an ass, or because they used cameras to help themselves in any way is just sad. Find a better reason.[Edited on December 30, 2007 at 2:25 AM. Reason : fucking sad people.]

The Broncos and 49ers both lost draft picks for breaking salary cap rules (both broke the rules in years they won super bowls). I hope you guys hate them even more than the Patriots..

i'm sick of the "jealousy" defense for hatred of the patriots. "jealousy" isn't the only reason people have for hating a team... but it's the ultimate douche response from those who are hated.in this case, it has nothing to do with being jealous of the patriots. i hate the nazi's, but that doesn't mean that i'm jealous of them.
12/30/2007 12:59:37 PM
I HATE THE PATRIOTS BECAUSE ALL THEIR PLAYERS ARE DOUCHEBAGS AND THUGSNO ONE ON MY TEAM IS A DOUCHEBAG OR A THUGTHEY'RE ALL PERFECTLY HUMBLE, RESPECTABLE HUMAN BEINGS
12/30/2007 1:02:59 PM
i just hate some of the thugs on their team, not to mention some of the horseshit calls that happen every week. are the patriots the only team in the NFL that does not hold?I wish rodney harrison would get hit by a fucking bus^ i hate some of the other teams for the same reasons but i guess thuggery is something you have to deal with in the NFL. Ed Reed, Warren Sapp, DeAngelo Hall are some others that come to mind[Edited on December 30, 2007 at 1:06 PM. Reason : .]
