Just list doctors that are good and that you have good experiences with. No bullshit. I don't care what drugs I get, I just don't want to be conscious when my head starts rocking back and forth as they "squeeze the tooth out like a watermelon seed".Go.

12/29/2007 1:23:15 PM
....i don't want to have to travel too far, as I'm going to have to bum a ride from the moms to take me.
12/29/2007 1:24:58 PM
you do know they can knock you out with other drugs besides gasi had drugs coming in through an iv a few months back when i had mine taken outi was completely unconcious the fun part is trying to stay awake when they start to hit you[Edited on December 29, 2007 at 1:26 PM. Reason : ]
12/29/2007 1:25:20 PM
i had drugs through an IV when I had mine out 5 years ago.i didn't think that there were doctors who kept you awake when removing wisdom teeth.
12/29/2007 1:27:31 PM
you can inject drugs that'll knock you outi was awake & i got no drugs - depends on if they pull them or if surgery is involved[Edited on December 29, 2007 at 1:28 PM. Reason : akf]
12/29/2007 1:27:37 PM
fuck that, list some doctors who won't knock you out while they pull wisdom teeth! That's your body, yo. To skip an experience like that would really suck.
12/29/2007 1:29:51 PM
i can knock you out if you want--just let me know
12/29/2007 1:30:03 PM
there's the matter of pulling teh teeth after - imho it's one of those situations where the more i can pay, the better, so i'm gonna pass on your no foolin tooth pullin.

My friends father runs one of the original sedation dentistry places in Raleigh. Its expensive as bizalls. Unless you have good insurance, chances are its going to cost 2-3 times what a normal dentist would out of pocket.
12/29/2007 1:39:27 PM
Almost all oral surgeons put you under, general dentists in some cases don't. I would definitely go to an oral surgeon, the IV knockout was awesome because you bascially wake up and the procedure is over and you're in your parents car on the way home.
12/29/2007 4:40:27 PM
not much is worse than a dentist that keeps crop dusting you while you're pinned down in the chair
12/29/2007 9:38:00 PM
Dr. Waack in Cary, super nice guy. I got gassed and put under.
12/29/2007 9:41:36 PM
i agree with the oral surgeon commentswould recommend the guy who pulled mine but i cant remember who did itmy only advice however is dont eat crablegs later that night
12/29/2007 9:47:09 PM
Oral surgeons will hook you up with an IV unless you don't want to be put to sleep. In that case they'll shoot you up and numb you.

i had mine done with IV sedation. gotta be better than the gas cause i dont remember a bit of it. except that it must have hurt cause i woke up crying. maybe i just had a sad dream[Edited on December 29, 2007 at 11:15 PM. Reason : /]
12/29/2007 11:15:13 PM
you probably just had a bad dream, i woke up yelling at everyone about how sexy the attending nurse was
12/30/2007 12:07:44 AM
I meant to say that the Dr. Waack that I suggested is an oral surgeon. And some people have an adverse reaction to anestesia and wake up crying. I woke up really happy - I looked at Lucky1 and said "Hey good lookin'!"
12/30/2007 9:18:30 PM
for you, i hope it's dr. mengele

Back in the day I went to a guy down in Fayetteville. I didn't feel like getting knocked out so they just novicaned my mouth up around the areas being pulled. I had two impacted if I can remember right so I think I had about 10/so shots. There was an initial couple which they waited to kick in before doing the rest so I didn't feel it.Honestly I didn't feel anything except the tugging and hearing a popping noise when they came out. The novicane was great as it didn't wear off for a while so I didn't really feel any pain.Only advice is to try and make sure to have your post-meds/pain-killers before you get it done so you can start popping when you leave. Else you're going to feel like shit.
12/30/2007 10:29:16 PM
actually they use a regular set of pliers to pull the wisdom tooth out. and when i got mine done it was only local anthesia. i have to get the other side out soon. it just started bothering me.i used to go to a docs office off blue ridge. her name was doctor linville.

i always hear commercials on the radio when ever i'm at the dentist (ironic) for a sedation dentist... i think they have the radio set at 101.5 or something close to that (easy listening) and the commercial comes on like once or twice an hour it seems like (i've spent plenty of time at the dentist recently due to crown problems )
