agreed as long as it's the wine back at the casa
12/28/2007 12:00:49 AM
celebrate. like birthdays or promotions or christmas. as opposed to, oh, drinking bud light to "celebrate" 5:00 every day^^^ yes, fun. like wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee i sure am actually fun to be around and not just annoying[Edited on December 28, 2007 at 12:02 AM. Reason : .]
12/28/2007 12:01:10 AM

12/28/2007 12:01:54 AM

12/28/2007 12:02:16 AM
you used to be cool
12/28/2007 12:02:21 AM
girls who celebrate fun by drinking wine
12/28/2007 12:03:18 AM

12/28/2007 12:04:22 AM

12/28/2007 12:09:37 AM
you have no idea whats going on do you
12/28/2007 12:09:39 AM
with knowing very little i'd argue you have a completely different outlook you just haven't thought about it enough to compare now to the past
12/28/2007 12:10:18 AM
also i would like to state that i'm definitely not trying to imply anything about wine and culture or status or anything like that. i dont know anything about wine... except that it should come in a bottle with a cork
12/28/2007 12:13:00 AM
it also comes in juiceboxes. and now a lot of wine bottles are screw off because there is a shortage of cork or something? i don't know if that is true...that is just what i heard
12/28/2007 12:13:58 AM
i guess if you wanna get technical, omar, my outlook is different because i actually have an outlook now. as far as principles and shit like that, im pretty much the same. just care more about tomorrows than i used to. and according to the feedback i get on tww, that makes me suck now. ha ha^see, i think it should have a cork. and no box. [Edited on December 28, 2007 at 12:15 AM. Reason : dont ask why]
12/28/2007 12:14:26 AM
that's more or less what i meant - heh yeah i also try to let all of my feedback from tww sink in deep - it's wonderful to be "loved" by the internet people
12/28/2007 12:15:52 AM
I never really drank wine outside of the stupid boxed wine I'd split with one of my college roommates before State bball games so we could get drunk real quick without having to down liquor...but since I moved 30 minutes from Napa/Sonoma Valley I love wine... and I wouldn't dream of drinking any without a cork now. the "wine drinking culture" is certainly a little different than college binge drinking though...But I agree with this thread for the most part... and I think I understand it.[Edited on December 28, 2007 at 12:17 AM. 12/28/2007 12:16:27 AM
I completely agree.
12/28/2007 12:18:37 AM
i'd watch out on the cork statement though as some decent wines are seriously switching to screw offs (yes kindof trashy) and synthetic corksmost of my friends switched to wine post college[Edited on December 28, 2007 at 12:22 AM. Reason : df]

One of the big winery's I visited with my sister when she was up here last week... I want to say Robert Mondavi... had the twist offs... I don't think there is any trend to switching from corks though... not that I've noticed at least... but I'm no wine expert, I just like to take trips up there from time to time...The way I look at it, is if Two Buck Chuck can still have cork then why can't all the others...[Edited on December 28, 2007 at 12:24 AM. Reason : week]
12/28/2007 12:23:43 AM
^ hahaha ok good point. maybe there isn't a trend. but some decent wines do come with twist offs. but i'm not gonna lie, it does take away from the experience. it isn't really sexy to twist off the top to a bottle of wine.
12/28/2007 12:25:01 AM
there is a small movement moving towards twist-offs as opposed to corks because people that buy $100+ bottles of wine don't want to have to worry about the cork going bad - with a twist off it's not a worry
12/28/2007 12:25:51 AM
you don't have to use REAL cork
12/28/2007 12:26:28 AM
naturally cut cork lasts a good while^^which is what would be in high dollar shitah, cork taint....still chances of it degrading wine...i hear ya[Edited on December 28, 2007 at 12:31 AM. Reason : sorry][Edited on December 28, 2007 at 12:36 AM. Reason : cha]

Last new years eve I was with a bunch of NoVa upper-middle class wanna-bes in a 2500 sq ft home drinking wine and listening to them tell office stories. Sitting there with my attractive but pretentious date, I knew I'd fucked up somewhere.
12/28/2007 9:58:25 AM
i don't remember posting in this thread at all...but yes, i drink wine to celebrate.

Chatham Hill or something like that... I always wondered what that was when I was going to RDU... it's like right off of Aviation Pkwy... I'm sure it's just a manufacturing type place... I don't see how there could be a vineyard there.Found it...http://www.chathamhillwine.com/news.html[Edited on December 28, 2007 at 12:18 PM. Reason : aviation not airport blvd]
