Thinking about picking up the banjo. Anyone have any tips? Websites to help learn? Advice?

i got a book and just learned through that...but ive played other instruments before.

i could never get the hang of finger picks though...i prefered just using my fingers.

^^^^ have you ever picked up a real one before? my sis's bf plays banjo, and his must weight 25lbs or something. it was not a light instrument!
