ive made the thread about AIRBORNE before, long ago, but i ended up going out of town before i got my answer.at the first site of what would normally turn into bronchitis, 1-2 days out of work, and a z-pack presccription i went out and bought:1) a tube of harris teeter brand airborne (4.79) plus $1.00 VIC savings = about 4 bucks2) a box of ZYCAM 8 hour tablets (looks like its regular ole DXM aka robotussin) (8.99) plus $2.00 VIC savings = 6.99so i spent 11 bucks. generic airborne and fancy robotussin. airborne is taken once every 3 hours, zycam is once every 8. each container has about 10 hitslets guess. i started taking it at first sign of feeling like i might be getting sick. plus some motrin that i already had. i take a one a day vitamin ("for men") every day and that will not changeanyone got experience with either?will i live?will i die?will i feel great tomorrow?will i wake up feeling bad tomorrow, and then like hell in 2 days like i should if i did nothing (my guess)the endbut really, i wanna know. is this shit any good? i could have just got 10 bucks worth of ice cream

I really do believe in Zycam. I'm not going to bore you with anecdotal evidence that you may or may not believe, but I've had very good experiences since I started taking it.What are Airborne's ingredients?
12/19/2007 11:33:25 PM

http://www.airbornehealth.com/looking for ingredients1. What is Airborne?Airborne is an effervescent dietary supplement that was created by a school teacher to boost her immune system so that it could help her body fight against the germs that abound in the classroom. Airborne contains 17 natural ingredients, including 7 herbal extracts, antioxidants, electrolytes and amino acids. Airborne provides added support to the body's immune system by providing needed nutrients and herbs, which help to strengthen the immune system.[Edited on December 19, 2007 at 11:38 PM. also, remember that i got the generic version of the airborne, but the ingredients listed were all the same from what i could tell. and from my experiences with drugs in the past, i have not noticed any difference in the potency of name brand vs generic

I Zicam when i can it works good for me just have to catch the cold early
12/20/2007 12:02:04 AM
The zicam nasal swabs work REALLY well. Unfortunately, they have been anecdotally linked to permanent loss of smell, and that's not something I want to mess around with. The quick-dissolving lozenges don't taste as nasty as the other delivery methods and seem to work okay.

Zicam never worked for me. Never. It just either left a bad taste in my mouth or left me with a wet nose, depending on which preparation I used. There's a lot of debate about the use of Airborne as directed.I'm currently taking Airborne, but not every 3 hours because taking it as it is recommend would be extremely bad for the baby (overload on certain vitamins like A, etc). I would simply be concerned about the overload of vitamins from the Airborne not to mention in combo with your multi. Like some vitamins like C, to a point your body will just excrete the whatever you cannot use (you'll get the runs or end up with kidney stones, etc). But you do reach a point where levels become really detrimental to your health. At the very least, Airborne seems to take some of the soreness out of my throat and I'm not getting any worse. But I'm doing things other than just the Airborne to keep my sinus infection under control until I see my ObGyn tomorrow for it.[Edited on December 20, 2007 at 12:16 AM. Reason : yiyiyi]

i got the zicam cough drops and iirc they're just DXM.... but who knows, maybe im thinking something elseand the zinc comment is interesting, because i actually called my cousin tonight because she's down with the hip stuff enough that i thought she would know what the stuff was called (airborne - i was on the way to HT to pick something up) -- and she knew it as soon as i was like whats that stuff, some people swear by it for colds.... AIRBORNE. boom.the weird part is she also told me that i should pick up some zinc and erchymya or some crap if i saw any at the grocery store

i didnt get the nose swab shit---heres the one i got (the melt), since i had a light cough starting and bronchitis is usually what it turns into:http://www.zicam.com/Category.aspx?eid=3Zicam CoughPower to tame the toughest coughs.Zicam Cough products deliver the strongest cough suppressant available without a prescription and eliminate the measuring and mess of sticky syrups. I use the Zicam nasal gel. With extended use it will destroy my sense of taste and make everything taste like metal, but within a couple of days it comes back. Maybe there is some cumulative effect, but I haven't noticed it.
