Mine started off bad but became a mostly positive year.

0 = awful
10 = best year ever

I would give 2007 a 7

How was yours?

I'd give it a 9 until October ended. The end of the year BLANDNESS (11/1-current) downgrades this year to a 8.5 . I think this has been the best year i have ever had though finally surpassed my awesome 2005 and a lot better then my shitty 2006.

Let's see. . .

Cons:
-Started off Jan. 1st in the ER.
-Developed a panic disorder.
-Kidney problems. More ER.
-Diagnosed with metabolic problem.
-Numerous pregnancy difficulties.

Pros:
-Medication can work miracles.
-I got pregnant pretty much the second we decided to start trying.
-We built and moved into a house.
-I've lost over 40 pounds.

This year so far is an 8. If I go into labor before the year ends, I'll give it a freakin' 10.

I think we're at an 8 or a 9 right now

Pros:
Graduated Grad school. Thank god
Started job that's well paying
Got a better bed therefore my hips no longer hurt daily
Finally got to see an endocrinologist and get treatment for the disorder that I've had for 15 years, 10 of those undiagnosed other than "we know somethings wrong" the remaining 5 effectively untreated.
Lost 12 pounds due to the above (which isn't much but hey it's a start)
Got to see a friend in Boise Idaho and had the time of my life there.
Got to go to Disneyworld for the first time ever with my best friend.
Got a new computer! That isn't a POS!
GOt a laptop from work I can use for email and such on travel that isn't a POS!

Cons:
The tail end of a relationship I would have been better off without.
Diagnosed with a stress disorder - still need to do something about it.
Lost about 1/3 my hair (presumably due to the stress at the end of grad school) the pro is it was so thick to start with noone notices.
Went through absolute hell for my last semester of grad school.
Still getting sick numerous times a year, currently sick right now, again.
Didn't make any progress on personal or artistic projects

It's less that I got so much done, and more that I got a lot of things in place to hopefully, be a lot happier in the near future.

2007 has been a great year. I definitely give it a 9.
Made my first surf trip out to Cali, had some fun drunken trips to the hospital, had one of the best summers ever in Boone, App won a third national championship, I got some of my best grades ever, and I really can't think of a single thing to complain about. Awesome.

I had a really interesting year- spent six months as Ariel in WDW, dated a really interesting but fucked up man, got to meet a bunch of VIPs, lived with eight girls, got sugar daddied by a pilot for a few weeks, cut all my hair off, spent soo much time obsessing over my weight then quit my job so it didn't matter, got another cool job at the velvet cloak, fell back in love with my best friend, decided I did want to finish school, got some neat modeling/promotion jobs, almost got stabbed, am still poor as hell, had an awesome trip to NYC, got super trashed to the point of amnesia one night (thats all I need for the year), had a bad ass Halloween costume, made a couple of friends, evicted a hooker and almost lost my job for it, bought the most awesome scooter ever, got to be BFF's with an old blind man, now am a fedex slave for my father, got so much closer with my sister, have the best gifts to give this year for christmas, learned to follow my to do list, realized I would give anything to go back to WDW... but my soulmate, so I didn't reapply. Thats a pretty intense decision.

Yeah... I'd say my year was intense. Thats a good word for it.

haha honestly i dont even know how to rate years anymore...i usually always say something like well this coming year cant possibly be worse than _____....i'm gonna have to say i def. learned a lot about myself this year and what i'm capable of...i mean my ass was motherfucking dumpster diving in the summer...and i've also learned on what i can live off of even if i'm broke...i also learned which drugs are worth doing for fun and which to stay away from...i havent smoked a cig in 2 days and i got like 105 pieces of nicorette left...spring semester i did shitty and this semester i kicked ass like no other....got 2 jobs currently....havent drank any koolaid since august....got a feeling 2008 is gonna be like 10 times better than 2005, 2006, and 2007 combined

i'd give 2007 a 7.5/10

January 7th got a new rotation at my job that looked like a lot of fun
January 20th middle school lego first challenge was ruined by 1 messed up kid for the entire group.
January 26th totalled a car with a passenger in it at 100MPH
Feb 10th broke a 120k camera 1 of 2 in existence b/c I had been up working on it for 40hours straight (worked 40hours in 2 days... litterally including eating)
Feb 15th demonstration for our project didn't go well because of reasons out of our control.
Feb 27th got run off a busy highway (I97) into a gaurd rail at 70MPH spun back into traffic and somehow by the grace of God didn't get hit or hit anybody else.
March 3rd Grade 3 AC joint seperation (seperated clavical from acromion)
April(ish) decided to move back to NC and work on my masters
Also got a new assignment at work that was pretty awesome to work on
August 18th moved back to NC ()
thanksgiving: watched my grandfather cry b/c he felt so helpless about a lot of stuff
this entire semester I've spent in a lab working my ass off and I still got 2 B's in gradschool classes.
haven't done any christmas shopping and it's the 19th

overall, I've had some fun this year, and there are high points, but just so much SHIT happened

2/10

About a 2, maybe a 3.

1. Working for a cut-throat company on the edge of no-fucking-where for not enough money. It WAS/IS my first engineering job, though, so what the hell.

2. I'm in about the worst financial position in my life (well, short of when I lost my job right before 9/11 and couldn't find another in the aftermath). But at least I have a job.

3. A lot of the women I've gone out with have been big-time head cases. Being a little bit of a head case myself, this has done nothing but create extreme mental turmoil. I have discovered a lot more about what and who I'm willing to tolerate, and who I really am, though. I know what I want out of a relationship, and it sure as hell isn't just not being alone. I'd rather be alone than have to deal with somebody else's extreme neuroses. A few are all right.

4. I did get a decent car. After blowing about 4 grand in diesel fuel.

I'm gonna say 7/10

Pros:

- Moving up in the company, and got a disgustingly awesome raise
- Bought a new car that I love
- Realized that I am in the most awesome relationship I'll probably ever have
- 1 year close to finishing up my doctorate

Cons:

- had to fight a few battles w/ some crap that's going on up in my head
- been having horrible nightmares over the past 4 months leading to insomnia

Probably the most eventful year of my life. A lot of shit has happened to me since January. It started off rather bleak as I knew I had a lot to do this year though.

- Started off in January just chugging along in the senior design lab, classes actually looked fairly decent that semester.
- Got a job interview (for my current job) which was a huge confidence boost since not too many other people I knew at that time had much in terms of job prospects after graduation. Flew down for the interview and got offered the job two weeks later. It was a huge relief to have a job lined up after graduation that early in the semester.
- Finally hooked up with a very good friend of mine after a few weeks of tension between us.
- Even though it pretty much drained my life, I got to see my senior design project come to life.
- Represented NCSU at the AIAA conference in April for said project. NCSU took first place.
- April 26, probably the proudest day of my life, I got to see my plane fly for the first time.
- April 27, senior design picnic, my plane performed flawlessly in front of all my friends & family.
- May 11, graduated and, after 5 long years, got my degree.
- Got a month off to prepare for my move
- June 1, moved down here, got an apartment, got everything, and pretty much became fully financially independent from my parents.
- June 11, started my first day here. Made friends very quickly which led to a great summer.
- Six Flags, water parks, late night movies, concerts in the park, all summer long.
- Met my current gf in July, started going out with her in August.
- Spent most of Autumn just working and playing video games, not too glamorous but overall VERY low stress.
- Got to dress up like Sub-Zero for Halloween and impress a bunch of my gf's friends.
- Just got a promotion last week, which bumped me up a few government pay grades.
- Just started a new rotation at work in a different department.
- Looking forward to going back home to NC for Christmas and bringing my gf to see how she works with my family.

1 or 2.

The cons outweigh the pros, but to put it into perspective:

Cons:
Lost my job and still unemployed since October.
My godson was born and died this year.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer.

Pros:
Holding my Mom's b-day party with all the siblings.
Moved into own apartment.

These last three months have been a really big downward spiral for me. So 2008 doesn't have to do too much to be better than 2007.

Pros:
Lost my virginity
More importantly, State beat Carolina on the day I lost my virginity
Did about 20-30 kickass improv shows

Cons:
Dropped out of school to pursue business
Business failed
Girlfriend broke up with me
Lost my kickass job at Macaroni Grill
Completely screwed over my stand up career
Lost my faith
Returned to State but got kicked out for trying to kill myself 4 times
Dad kicked me out
Am now in between houses, spending the holiday on various people's couches

Not the best of years. I'd give it about a 5.

On the plus side, 2008 just has to be better.

One of the worst on record . . . picked up a bit at the end, but can't compensate for the rest of the year. I'd have hope for 2008, but my years get consistently worse.

Still, I'm well fed, have a truck that runs, have a roof over my head and (for the moment) a stable job. So by selfish standards 4/10 . . . by world standards 8.5/10.

i'd say roughly 7.5. would have been an 8 if i hadn't had to move twice.

nah fuck that. 8.5. got a master's. moved in with my girlfriend (an no issues yet 6 mos. into that). it's been a pretty good year.
