They should have called it "I Am Legend (in name only)" I have not seen it but I've read the short story and it sounds like they're not all that similar. I don't understand why they stray so much from the book, why try to improve on something that already works? Even though I hate spoilers this has saved my the money/trouble of going since it sounds like typical Hollywood shit. I'll just read the book again.

the movie's plot is a lot better in my opinion, the book has too much inner conflict and plot twists like Grendel from what i saw

That's probably where I have the most problems with movies is the ending. Seems like a lot of movies have a great set up but then fall flat at the end.
