so lately i've been seeing a lot of buy 1 get 1 of equal or lesser value deals for vitamins...i have a multivitamin so i dont need any of the common vitamins like a or c(probably got enough in my food for those anyways)...i'm just curious if anyones ever taken an omega 3 supplement

i dont eat much fish...would it be worth buying some omega 3 supplements?

any other "strange" supplements you would recommend, not like common shit i get in my food but more random type stuff

I've found that if you work out/ do cardio, taking Chromium helps regulate your blood sugar so you aren't always tired

I recommend that you take more C than is in a regular multi. A good 500-1000 mg of C helps keep your immune system in check.

Extra B vitamins are good to take if you're the kind of person who drinks excessively. Drinking saps you of B vitamins and if you ever go to the hospital for something alcohol related, they will typically give you a B vitamin shot.

Glucosamine is great for your joints, especially if you have any sort of joint problems or stress on your joints.

Flax seed oil for depression.

I could go on all day about vitamin, mineral, and herbal supplements because my mom is a damned dirty hippy.

vitamin e- skin and stuff
flax seed oil- healthy oil
fish oil- healthy oil
cinnamon- good for you!
acidophilus- helps with intestines and digestion (similar to the cultures helpful in yogurt)
b-complex- immune and eye performance

well you're supposed to take most of them with a meal so that they are absorbed correctly, so whenever i remember and i'm eating something, i take a random assortment of whatever i feel like

i try to take the multi everyday.

oh yeah i have some calcium + D that i try to take every other day at least

Vitamins are either fat or water soluble.

I feel damn good. I notice a difference in my general well being due to fish oil --inflamation and mentally. I have more energy, endurance, and prolonged drive with my peri workout supplementation. I feel there is a difference with my post workout supplementation.

I currently take the following:

Fish Oil - 2 capsules twice a day
Multivitamin - I try to avoid multivitamins with large quantities of the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, & K.
Green Tea Extract - for the antioxidants
Glucosamine, MSM, Choindoitrin(sp) - joint support
Calcium - might be worthless as a supplement, might not. I don't eat dairy products regularly.

Anyone know about magnesium supplements? My boyfriend takes one because he read:

Quote :
"Over an 18-year period, French researchers determined that men with the highest blood levels of magnesium are 40 percent less likely to die of any cause than those with the lowest levels. Magnesium can make multivitamins too bulky, so add a 250 milligram (mg) pill from iherb.com or GNC to your daily regimen."

Of course, the ad at the end there makes me wonder if it's legit.

I might have to look into glucosamine since my ankles are really fragile and I think one of my shoulders has issues.

I take melatonin along with a multi-vitamin, helps me sleep. Trader Joes has some cheap supplements but you have to read the bottle, they do some wacky concentrations 500mcg.....should be near 3mg

Maybe that is why Red Bull is so good when I'm hungover. It has a good bit of B6 and B12.

Agreed. I like Glucosamine Condroitin with MSM. The two together are supposed to be more beneficial than either by itself.

I take a multivitamin three or four times per week and Glucosamine Condroitin 2-3 times daily. I have also been drinking Green Vibrance 4-6 times per week for a couple of years because I don't feel that I eat enough "leafy greens." It's good stuff.
