Why anyone would eat at Red Hot and Blue in North Carolina is beyond me. It's seriously the worst barbecue I've ever had, and I won't touch that stuff, even out of state.

Yay, some shitty chain opened when there are already plenty of good local places to patronize. Let me organize a damn parade.

you people?? OMG CALL WRAL

seriously though. at least there isn't just a empty, run down shell of a building there anymore. its about time SOMETHING opened. the street sucks hard, any new money/business getting pumped into it is all for the better.

besides, we could've just gotten another pizza place. i'm sure all you fucks would be happy with that. OR MAYBE ANOTHER HOOKAH BAR BRAH!!

i'm not sure what bbq places y'all are referring to, but red hot and blue is a completely different form of bbq than traditional eastern nc bbq. being a goldsboro native, i undoubtedly prefer some pit cooked chopped vinegar base, but comparing red hot and blue is apples/oranges. sometimes i wanna have some of their style bbq.

this place going out of business won't fucking bring daryl's back, and it won't bring in a new business. someone tried to put that 'raisin ale' place in the space, and it never even opened its doors. i'm just glad there's at least something in there now.

^^^^^Being a different style of barbecue doesn't mean it doesn't suck.

I mean, I can appreciate Eastern NC and Lexington Style BBQ, Kansas City and Texas style beef brisket, St. Louis ribs, South Carolina mustard-based, even Tennessee barbecue (Jack's in Nashville is fantastic). There is nothing that will make me touch the abomination that is Red Hot and Blue.

^^if we're talking lagrange, then i'll take BJ's grill (at the light right before you get to ken's) over ken's any day. much better.

You know, I never thought about this, but the Darryl's that was on Wake Forest Road changed their theme to a cajun/zydeco thing just before they closed and demolished the place...perhaps the same thing will happen with Darryl's #1 now that they've got the faux-zydeco RH&B thing going on.

Thank god businesses are coming to Hillsborough St. Who cares if its a place that serves a poor imitation of bbq at outlandish prices...as long as there is something in that building.

There's one good thing about Franklin St. and that's Ham's...which is what should have gone in where Darrell's used to be instead of Red Hot and Blue. I still might eat there at some point if I get desperate, but since I'm from Wilson and grew up eating at places such as Bill's and Parker's, I doubt Red Hot and Blue will ever become one of my regular eateries. But back to Ham's, I just can't believe that there isn't a Ham's anywhere in Wake County. There's one in Chapel Hill and Rocky Mount which are the two closest. And if Greenville, New Bern, Kinston, and Goldsboro can support a Ham's why in the world can't there be one in Raleigh and more specifically on Hillsborough St.
