i need a piece of kind of thick clear plastic to go in a picture frame, 14" x 17". i don't want to use glass, as it's going to be used in an art project and glass won't do what the plastic will. anyone know where to buy something like that?

great thread title - i'm sure this problem will be solved more quickly that it would have been with a descriptive title including something about picture framesgo to michaels

omar, you're a fucking idiot, i think i've covered this many times before.plexiglass is a little too thick, i'm looking for something about the thickness of a laminated placemat... but totally clear, i don't want to laminate what's going under it, and it's going to have layers to it. i didn't see anything like it at michaels or a.c. moore.

I'm sure you can't buy this AT anywhere...sentence ending prepositions. Thanks omar, btw, for the gift.

can't you just go to a place that does laminating and have them run you a sheet of just laminate with nothing in it? Like Kinko's or something?

plexiglass, specifically acrylic of clear polycarbonate come in LOTS of thicknesses and can be found at any hobby shop: michaels (i dont really like it but whatever), ac moore, jerrys artarama. i always go to askew taylor though. you can also find lots of thicknesses at toms train station. you can also get sheets of acetate too, but that can be paper thin. the stuff at lowes is usually not made for what you need.
