I put synthetic blend in my bike and it leaks like a siv. Would putting in a heavier weight than recommended (and going back to dino oil) have any detrimental effect? I figured this question might have specific bike implications due to the clutch sitting in the oil. A guy I work with said the same thing happened to his bike and just swapping to dino sealed everything back up.On another note, what do you guys do to winterize your bikes. I figure with the weather being what it is here there will end up being the odd day/weekend where I can ride just about every month but I worry about moisture collecting in the brake reservoirs (I think it already has, spongey brakes at times) and carbs gumming up (what's the time frame on this anyway?). I don't have a garage so I just chain it to my house.

Where is it leaking from? Is it not something where you could just fix the leak and get rid of the problem instead of half assing it and possibly making new problems?I don't do anything to winterize my bike except take the battery out. Winter really isn't that long here.

it's leaking from just about every gasket. valve cover, stator cover, etc. I live in raleigh for the time being so I guess I'll just drive it on the odd warm day and put a cover on.[Edited on December 15, 2007 at 2:45 PM. Reason : and it didn't leak before]

done use seafoam, it will cause more leaks when it eats up the gumming and whatever is eating away at your seals/motor

switch back to dyno. if ur lazy go thicker oil. altho. i wouldnt. vlad used to run 20w50 or 2w60 weight in his gsxr. he beat the shit outta it and i still see it riding around campus to this day.
