Can anyone recommend a reasonable place to get this done? I do not need anything performance - it's just a daily driver. I have done alot of work on my own on the Jeep just never any exhaust work. Could I save some money by doing it myself and just have someone weld it when done?

since you don't have to pass emissions you can just cut the cat out, hollow it , put a straight pipe through it and weld it back in .[Edited on December 13, 2007 at 12:48 PM. Reason : .]

SO when we say "any local shop" are we referring to Midas?

oh, I said that hoping some of the locals would chime in with the name of a reputable place (as I am not from raleigh)Doing it yourself would be best, but if you dont have saw/grinder/welder/appropriate bends its not fun
